will Maguire be available for your JUly Europa matches? could do something decent if he does. League is over so focus now on bringing the club to the next level with some European money

The details are not clear but it is very unlikely. I think, barring luck of the draw, that all Irish teams will struggle in Europe this year.

City have confirmed Maguire is joining Preston at the end of July.

I knew it was gonna happen but it's a blow that he's leaving, I was hoping we'd keep him until the end of the season (highly unlikely, I know).

At least we have him for the Europa League matches. All the best Seanie and good luck!

do city fans think connor ellis is ready to take sean maguires place in the side. he scored plenty of goals for the city under age teams and on loan at cobh last season. i think he has scored 3 coming of the bench for city this season. it would be a real shame if they brought in a journeyman from the lower leagues in england rather than promote from within

Linked with Eoghan Stokes as a replacement for Maguire. Anyone know what his ability is like?

Did Cork get any money for him?

Maguire had a €150,000 release clause in his contract with the Cork club, who announced on Saturday that they’ve agreed “an appropriate but undisclosed compensation package” with Preston.

Will be confirmed this week. Look we knew these two lads would be gone sooner rather than later but its still a bit sh*t to lose them half way through such a great season, cant compete with those Championship offers though.

Be interesting to see how much we get for O Connor.

Fine player but not a huge loss really. Griffen will slot in there, Caulfield will find cover and the show goes on.
