I see Mr Trump tweeted about if the FBI spent more time investigating the tip off on this killer than the Russia collusion it could have been avoided. This a few days after stating it's not a gun issue it was a mental health issue. He's one disgusting human being

While there is a mental health aspect to it, the reality is gun control is a far bigger issue. The usual references to Dunblane and Port Arthur should be ringing alarm bells.

A vile vile man. Using those deaths as an excuse to bring up the Russian investigation is beyond the pale. It would be amazing to see him impeached.

I've surprised by the muted response to this particular shooting. Again, this remains a gun control issue, but I feel that this particular case has been more silent by virtue of the fact that it is an unusual incident, which doesn't fit the narrative of the either side of the political divide which wants to use it to racially/religiously profile, or use the angry white male narrative, or that the usual ideologies (ISIS inspired or white supremacy) are not at issue here.

It's another shooting in a country that is doing nothing to prevent such incidents. People see the headlines now and just think "there's another one" and its going to keep happening be it like yesterday, a school shooting or whatever

Nobody died, that's why, if it wasn't YouTube but some factory in the Midwest it wouldn't have even made the news here.

It's not noteworthy bar where it happened, I don't have the stats off hand but there must be several such incidents a week so one in as and as of itself is minor.

There's also no information on whether the gun was legal yet so can't come racing out saying background checks or other legislation would have prevented it. It's only been a few hours too so nothing to say they won't use it.

But as you've mentioned yourself, even if only as a result of the location, it is still international news. I still feel that it raises gun control issues, but in a unique case.
