They need to change the headline to: 'We need to be in the running' – Brian Kerr insists Ireland need strong Nations League showing to keep Brian Kerr on side |

We could win the group and Kerr would be salty haha I love Kerr but he does himself a disservice not backing King Kenny

Turned into a right catankerous aul f**ker. We could top the group and he'd still gripe about something

Eamonn Dunphy:"I'll tell you who wrote it, Rod Liddle, he's the guy who ran away and left his wife for a young one".
Bill O'Herlihy: Ah ye can't be saying that now Eamonn |

It's rumoured that the two don't get on for some reason (but the problem seems to be on Kerr's side).

On the England game doing co-comms - as it’s coming towards the end and they’re losing he starts to question if any of those players would be too bothered about these games as they’ve had long seasons etc. then he says it’s no big deal for them to lose as there’s still 5 games in the group..
.. I wonder if he’ll say the same things about Ireland’s loss today

Probably slightly different, us and them. Don't know what might give someone that impression, but at a guess - When you're qualifying for the final of the Euros and Semi Final of the World Cup, the Nations league probably not overly high on your agenda, and you might be given a bit of leeway for your performances and results in it. When you have 2 competitive wins from 16 competitive games (as of today), Nations League performance probably a bit more relevant considering you've accomplished absolutely nothing else. I wonder could that be why he might say something different about Ireland today.

That's the thing about negativity masquerading as insights or wisdom. The universe is in a state of constant entropy and so eventually your negative whining will seem prescient.

Watching the analysis of Scotland vs Ukraine. Brian Kerr talks about the lack of a goalscorer for Scotland costing them against us as the highlights showed the two chances they had coming from Duffy not being able to pass the ball out and a few aimless crosses going out for goal kicks.
Just woeful and I suppose influenced by Kerr not falling over himself to give the side under Kenny any credit either.

Does Kerr have some personal beef against Kenny or is this more back to his FAI days?

There could be some history between them or Kerr could be bitter about the easier ride Kenny gets in the press compared to Brian's stint as Ireland manager (despite the fact that he did nothing with a much much better squad of players). Either way, himself & Dunne are very doom and gloom on Virgin. Dunne looks absolutely dreadful

He's looking after himself. Needs to be different, controversial. From the outset, another pro-Kenny muppet would have attracted f-all reaction. He's using Dunphy's template: tune in, hear me, hate me, talk about me, make me relevant.
