Does anyone know actual contract implications of Euro 2020 being postponed?
Is Mick contracted until our involvement has ended... Or is Kenny coming onboard at certain date regardless..?

Kenny is contractually stipulated to take over in August, whatever, I would have thought.

Mick's contract expires at the end of July regardless. Mick previously said if we didn't qualify he'd step aside to allow Kenny take charge of the end of season friendlies

So suggestions are that the virus will peak in 3 months, the tournament is scheduled to kick off in 3 months. Very likely the euro 2020 will be postponed now. I simply cant see Kenny taking over in August

FAI wouldn't financially survive another year of McCarthyball with a never changing team eking out dull 1-1 draws at home. Tis something for the contract lawyers to work out really, but I can't see the FAI wanting to hold onto him that badly.

If his contract is till the end of July, and seeing as we are unlikely to see a game before then, surely his involvement is now over?

Been told the wording on Micks contract is "Until the end of the involvement of the National Team in the European Championships"
No date stamp. meaning he may well be in the job for another year.

Mick's contract is another idiosyncracy from the Delaney era. It does expire in July, it is not extant for the duration of the Euro campaign, so any unforeseen circumstance that disrupts the original timetable for the latter means Kenny will be in place from August and managing the senior team from then. Mick has a lucrative contract and he is well rewarded for this unusual and irregular situation. Nobody can blame him for that, Delaney and co. put up the dosh, but he's gone come July.

Green cockade - you seem very sure here, can I please ask what makes you think this is definitely the case?
Not trying to challenge you here, just really interested.

Unless Kenny and Mick come to a gentlemanly agreement for him to see out 'his' campaign.

Wouldn't worry about it. Mick is a straight man and whatever you think about him as a manager he would never hold Irish football to ransom. Last time he left he took a couple of months pay with him in lieu of notice. He will do the right thing.
