I think it is fairly recent because the intro suggests that Mick is going into his second stint as Irish manager but Dunphy doesn't bring it up in the interview. Mick comes across very well in it. Cheers for sharing it

Was shown the same week he was announced as manager, it was a 4 part series on Eir Sport. Robbie Keane was on the following week.

Yeah must say I really enjoyed it, Micks honesty is refreshing and it is really hard not to like him.

He doesn't seem to bear grudges at all which is a very good sign. It would tie in with the stories of him being an excellent man manager and someone who gets along with people.

Listening to an interview on off the ball with him. Sent Noel King to go watch Dan Crowley in action Good to have you back Mick. It's going to be a long 12 months.

McCarthy didn’t send him, it’s Noel King’s job to watch and speak to potential recruits. He will be doing the same job when Stephen Kenny is manager.

Then why is Mick watching Keane/Bamford etc in person? Surely that should also be King's job?

Yeah interesting point, you’d assume that Mick, Terry O’Connor, Robbie Keane and Noel King share the workload in that regard. This is a complete assumption on my part but maybe Mick sees Bamford and Keane as players who he would be more likely to throw into the deep end in a qualifier, whereas Crowley might be seen by the FAI / management team as a player for the next campaign. Someone posted on here the other day saying that Mick didn’t speak particularly highly of Crowley in a recent interview.

How do you know he isn't. Plus we have more then just those 4 watching players. Mick already said in an interview if any of the scouting team say to him you have to look at this lad then he will, end of the day he picks the team

It just all seems very slow! I am a bit sceptical about how good Crowley is, we may be building him up based on playing in the Netherlands, like we did with Jack Byrne, but surely somebody should have looked at him months ago? Should we not be at the stage now where if he is anywhere near good enough, McCarthy should be having a look to decide if he is in the squad or not?

Noel King sent to watch Crowley to try justify his new role and the wage he is stealing. FAI have to make it look like he doing something. Joke

On the OTB interview McCarthy said Crowley came out of the blue for him. How is that possible? He hs been discussed here for five years. How is it possible FAI have not been in regular contact with him? How is it possible Mick hasn’t learned about him before now? Hodgson met with him in 2014. Crowley paperwork should have gone through months ago. So frustrating.

This is the FAI lads.
in 08, a YBIGger contacted them about David McGoldrick's eligibility and an email came back more or less saying it was first they had heard of it.

I'd guess because for almost all of those last five years Mick hasn't been the Ireland manager?
