There's much (x1000) easier ways to make money than getting involved with a LOI club. |

Absolutely there is. But in terms of an enjoyment factor a LOI club getting into Europe is a huge chestnut for these lads. If someone wants to invest in a football club, a LOI club is a no brainer in comparison with a League Two or League One club.

Limerick's pitch is closed. There's an issue with the pitch so it's been dug up. The clubs would have had a say on where the game is played, if it's in Tallaght then it's because both clubs agreed to it. It's not a case of them being forced to play there.

Much better stadium, and both teams would have some exiles in Dublin to boost the attendance too.

LOI Central's podcast with the Trivela reps who are taking over Drogheda is worth a listen. I'm surprised there wasn't more of a push back from Dan and JW because I found a lot of what one of the fellas was saying to be very weak (town has great history, has a stadium, etc) and didn't deal with the reality of how much it will cost to maintain and then develop the club into one that can challenge for a league and European spots. While the league is in dire need of investment, I don't see the upside for investment companies taking over a club. At the moment, the only way to potentially make money is to qualify for Europe. Pinning your hopes on that alone is very risky when you consider the amount of teams attempting to secure one of the spots and that even 4th doesn't guarantee it because the cup winners get the spot.

Which is a travesty as it was one of the best pitches around but the crowd JP gave control of the stadium to wouldn't know a football if it hit them in the face. |

Great game in Tallaght tonight, Waterford deserved the win.
Cork are a shambles, Cups and leagues to two relegation in no time at all. Waterford fans outnumbered them easily too.

I'd imagine that was a record attendance for a play off final. 4032

Was at the game Friday, agreed that Waterford played them off the park, created numerous chances in the first half, woeful finishing by Waterford left City off the hook. Some great passing movements, the left full abck and right winger in particular caught my eye. Not sure there's any City player would have got into that Waterford team which is damning enough.
The 2 tactical subs in the first half (one amy be injury) seemed to have settled City down a bit, and they got some traction in the second half, but once Waterford got level, there was only gonna be one winner. Not sure what the future holds for City now, the next two weeks are the most important in the league with regards to setting up your squad for next year and getting free agents. You see with Rovers, Galway etc already announcing signings. Worry iscity will take the winter to sort out the maangement team and there could be nothing left but to go again with 90% of the same team. Might be enough for 1st division but we'll be in the same position in two years.

Commuting from Laois three times a week after taking its toll. He took a new job as Games Development Officer for Laois GAA during the season and the commitment that goes with that is just too much for him. Gutted.

Big job to replace him, given the work he did last year. You'd imagine this was flagged with the club ahead of time and that a replacement is being worked on for some time. He's a big loss to the league, best manager in Div 1 given the resources in my opinion
