Apart from that, I liked it, but I have very little time for that other nonsense!!

You know full well if it there was a rescue that saw Alan Dillon being rescued from the depths of Space, Westport Castlebar etc. would come to a standstill with a big screen in McHale Park beaming the live footage amongst a quiet chorus of Mayoooo, Mayoooooo

It's far more likely that there would be deferred coverage on TG4!

Might be a tad late but saw the new Star Wars last week. What a crock of sh*te. Found it bizarre and confused. Some bastard munching popcorn in my ear for the first hour didnt help either.
Walters coming back from an offside position but Shane Long was definitely onside- Shane Lonnggggggg.... has done it!!!!

The Snowman - 4/10.

A whodunit type of film, very average. Havent seen Val Kilmer in a long time, he looks like a melted wax work.
Jimmy Bullard - "Favorite band? Elastic."

Darkest Hour

Long time since i've seen a movie i didnt want to end - so so good. At the start, Churchill reminded me of something out of Little Britain - sitting up in bed with full on fry up, mumbling and guzzling whiskey. But the likeness quickly wore off.

Oldman deserves an oscar. Incredible performance and brilliant movie.

Thank you was trying to thing of the other film it reminded me of

I don't know maybe I like the whole time space parallel universe type story lines but I didn't think it was that bad, a little stupid at times but watchable if you are into that type of film.

I will say though Chris O' Dowd as an Astronaut probably the least believable thing about the movie

Aye he was poor only there for a bit humour and it mostly fell flat. He basically plays himself in every role.

I couldn't believe JJ Abrams was involved in it or even wanted his name on it.

You may find it hard to believe that there is currently a film out at the moment starring Denzel Washington. It seems like it has slipped through the main stream, and there is a reason for that because it's not very good.
Denzel is a lawyer whos best days are behind him. Working in a firm his life is changed when the firms co partner takes a heart attack, the firm is wound up and taken over by a younger big deal Colin Farrell.
There's a strange female interest, that doesn't go anywhere and is awkward.
Working for this new firm he losses track of himself and his morals and makes some questionable decisions.
Nothing outstanding from Washington either, not oscar worthy anyway.

Watched it recently and it's totally underwhelming.
The script is just poor nothing much Washington or Farrell can do about that.

In fairness to Denzel, he has always turned up in some sh*te to go along with the classics he was in.

Cardboard Gangsters

Fairly disappointing .I wasn't expecting much but some of the acting was terrible and the plot line has been done to death at this stage.

Thought Connors acted very well in it. Some of the supporting cast were woeful.
