Imagine getting upset about a brilliant movie because your relations are involved with an association that systematically covers up the actions of people like Oliver O'Grady

McDonagh needs to get some help with these scripts as they lack any heart or compassion.

Going by this movie it appears to be ok to bespercch a whole religion based on the actions of a few.

I'm a Catholic and I have a relations in the priesthood and to make broad statements about priests and to compare them to murderous gangs in LA is a cheap shot. That whole scene was out of place in the movie.

I though In Bruges was much more deserving of praise that this.

This has actually irked me a bit and not just because of your attempt at spelling besmirch or your bizarre support of the Catholic Church, more your complete inability to understand basic plotlines.
McDormand's character is, or was before the death of her daughter, a woman of some religious conviction. Enough, it would seem, for the local priest to be able to freely walk into her home and wait for her. This, of course, is actually a far bigger besmirch, and incredibly accurate, dig at the RCC as it shows they can go around telling their parishioners, and everybody else, what to do.
The response, which you took umbrage with, isn't the writer just having a wayward swing at the RCC, but an angry character who has lost her faith and is angry with the world and uses a damning and amusing analogy to tell the priest to do one. I am not sure if any films are suitable for you if you feel that everything a character says in a script are taken as indicative of the film as a whole. It may well be, but all that is relevant is that it fitted the narrative of te film, which I felt it did. It was angry, poignant and darkly funny, which is the entire point of the thing. The only scene that seemed irrelevant to me involved a cgi deer that came across as little more tan poor filler.

Back to the "actions of a few", it was you Pope Francis who claimed one in every fifty priests was a paedophile and that there was a culture of covering up. Do you think, at a rough guess, none of the other forty-nine knew what was going on? Have you seen the wonderfully harrowing documentary Deliver Us From Evil' which showed how paedophile priests and bishops were moved parish rather than be punished for destroying people's lives, or did documentary bespoke/bewilder/be-something a whole religion too. The only people who have besmirched the RCC are the RCC. The fact that are still allowed to continue as a business, for that is all they have ever been, unabated, is completely shameful.

I agree completely, it was very unfair on the L.A. gangs who have no history of covering up paedophilia.

Came across this on tv the weekend, had heard the story but never knew there was a film made about it. Michael Bay directed but apparently it didn't do well when released. The main battle scene was very rushed and hard to follow. Enjoyed it but they could've done such a better job with it

Cardboard Gangsters

Fairly disappointing .I wasn't expecting much but some of the acting was terrible and the plot line has been done to death at this stage.

In fairness to Denzel, he has always turned up in some sh*te to go along with the classics he was in.

Watched it recently and it's totally underwhelming.
The script is just poor nothing much Washington or Farrell can do about that.

You may find it hard to believe that there is currently a film out at the moment starring Denzel Washington. It seems like it has slipped through the main stream, and there is a reason for that because it's not very good.
Denzel is a lawyer whos best days are behind him. Working in a firm his life is changed when the firms co partner takes a heart attack, the firm is wound up and taken over by a younger big deal Colin Farrell.
There's a strange female interest, that doesn't go anywhere and is awkward.
Working for this new firm he losses track of himself and his morals and makes some questionable decisions.
Nothing outstanding from Washington either, not oscar worthy anyway.

Aye its f**king dirt.

I enjoyed it LOL

reminded me a lot of Event Horizon

It's a rip of several films. Event Horizon and Sunshine spring to mind.
It's f**king dirt tho

Thank you was trying to thing of the other film it reminded me of

I don't know maybe I like the whole time space parallel universe type story lines but I didn't think it was that bad, a little stupid at times but watchable if you are into that type of film.

I will say though Chris O' Dowd as an Astronaut probably the least believable thing about the movie

Aye he was poor only there for a bit humour and it mostly fell flat. He basically plays himself in every role.

I couldn't believe JJ Abrams was involved in it or even wanted his name on it.
