Is this just a sidewards move?

IMO he should stay at Preston, has a good chance at getting captain there. Player of the year last year too.

Big opportunity for him to get back into the squad now.

I dont think villa will go back up this season. Mite be just as well staying put.

Given the absolute sh*tshow that Villa were last year I think they're more likely to be relegated again than go back up. There's no doubt they are a big club, especially in Championship terms, but it would be a risky move for Cunningham for a number of reasons.

New owners and management team, I'd say they will bounce back next year. It would be great move for Cunningham IMO.

Defo a better player than Dummett, but might be difficult to stay in a free-spending Newcastle team.
