These evil club managers trying to win matches and benching our new messiahs Shocked Just who do they think they are??
Shouldn't Crowley be back in the potentially eligible section for the moment anyway?

And it's been all Swansea in the first half, very little point bringing on a creative player when you only have 22% of the possession.

I'll take a wild guess and assume that one of the reasons they have so little possession is because the current midfield can't hold onto the ball long enough to do anything constructive.

Bringing on a creative midfielder is exactly what you should do (which is what they've just done). But 3 nil isn't the time to be doing that.

No.

The simple answer is the Manager's been playing 2 different systems, a 5-3-2 without wingbacks (odd I know) and a 5-3-1-1.

Crowley hasn't started a game where they've started with a 3 man midfield but has started every game with a 4 man midfield. It doesn't take much working out from that. Simply not considered a starter as part of a 3 man midfield.

Birmingham don't have a manager, and that's obviously a big part of the problem.

Anyway, I wouldn't be getting my knickers into too much of a knot over all this just yet - we still don't  know if Crowley's even eligible.

Players like crowley play better with better players around them.

Birmingham have had moments but are really struggling to move the ball around compared to others

Saying that I think Crowley can adapt his game enough to be a first teamer

Eligibility or not, there is very little to suggest this lad is as good as he is being made out to be by some on here. He's played a handful of games for a poor enough team, then been dropped. With their recent results, he'll likely get back in soon enough anyway.

For comparison purposes, Alan Browne is starting his 5th season in the championship, played over 30 games in each of the last 4 campaigns and scored 18 goals in the last 2 seasons from attacking midfield, also for a middling team, granted, generally better than Birmingham have been recently.  If Crowley had stats like that, or manages 8 or 10 goals by the end of this season, people would be demanding that he should be first name on the teamsheet.

Yet Browne, who actually does have these stats, has played in a few friendlies (3) for us and struggled to stand out in them, could be dropped from Mick's squad tomorrow and it would barely get a single comment on here. In fact he will probably be struggling to stay in it regardless.

So as far as I can make out, the fuss is either because Crowley is English born or that because people haven't seen him play for us yet, in people's heads, he has automatically become a better player than what we have, even though actual evidence so far (I'd accept its early days yet) doesn't really seem to suggest that at all.

Hes had 3 games and it's a long season so let's reserve judgement for a bit longer.

Agree with Browne playing though but I honestly think he would be a more established Ireland regular if it wasn't for some unlucky and badly timed injuries

All fair points. Hopefully Crowley is eligible & gets back in soon enough anyway.

By the way, I have seen a lot of Crowley and my number 1 reason for wanting  him onboard is he possesses ability and a football brain that I don't think anyone else in the  current squad has. Should he be in the starting 11? Maybe. Should he be considered an option? Absolutely.

We badly need a brain like his. The only other player that comes close to Crowley Is Jack Byrne, who is the most technically gifted player in that 40 man provisional squad.

I hope he gets a run out against Bulgaria.
