Let's be honest, every single member of the cabinet are in their positions because they're willing to say yes daddy to Cummings, even Boris.

The only man who was willing to say 'No' was Javid and he was gone within 24 hours.

The likes of Raab and Priti Patel are career psychopaths, as David Cameron once described Cummings. A lot of sycophants and mediocrities in the Cabinet to be sure but even they must be squirming at the cut and paste tweets they were ordered to put out defending the indefensible. Most of the Tory MPs- including Ministers , backbenchers of every hue from rabid Brexiteers to the relatively sane and new faces in Parliament, want Cummings gone. If they think the current mess is bad just wait until the UK exits Europe without a deal in the midst of a recession or depression and quite possibly another Covid surge.

And to your point GC, the scary thing is that this is exactly what keeps Tory and Conservative politicians in power. En masse they rally round each other even in the bad times when it would appear to be sensible to hang people out to dry. “Comradeship” is strong in them.

I'm convinced the Russian angle with the Tories and the Brexit "movement" in general is very underexplored. The amount of Russian dark money that has been sloshing around Britain for decades now is enormous. The Tories (and Blair for that matter) have always treated the Russians with kid gloves. More than six months later, we still haven't seen the Russia report.

Cummings likely has serious kompromat on Johnson and others. That's how governments often work. Jeffrey Epstein worked for Mossad and collected kompromat. Why? To influence politics, duh.

Cummings lived in Russia. I don't believe that's a coincidence.

What we're looking at here is a trans-national crime syndicate, a dystopian massive global power grab by the world's very richest, and the Tories are fully on board with it, even though some of them may be too thick to realise what they're part of, or don't realise it but would haave no problem with it anyway.

It seems obvious to me that the ultimate aim of it is to create a world of mini-Russias - fake "democracies" which are totally corrupt, with any sort of genuine international co-operation such as the EU destroyed, with the way clear for the "might is right" countries (the loonies in Britain still think they are one of these "big" countries, but others re even more cynical and care noting bout their own country and just want to make out monetarily like bandits) to throw their weight around on the international stage, to the detriment of smaller countries, who the crackpots want to see ruled by client kleptocrats along the lines of Viktor Orban, Marine Le Pen and Matteo Salvini, who will feather their own nests to the detriment of their own people.

And the path is greased for these bastards by mass disinformation, in Russia they call it political technologism - the creation of a baffling world where bizarre things keep happening and most people cannot work out what is going on. The maanipulation and division of society into small groups which are constantly at each others throats is key.

If people think this sounds conspiratorial, just look at the world at the moment, look at the US, look at Brazil - we're seeing it play out in real time.

What are people's opinions on the marches in Dublin today? Justifed cause no doubt but kick in  face for the whole social distancing ethos.

Are they causing a greater chance of a spike than people meetint for a a few drinks in a park or something like that.

I would think most decent people in this country would be sympathetic to those protesting today's point and the fact that it empowers racial/ethnics groups here to highlight racism issues  in Ireland can only help our society progress.

That said, it's completely irresponsible to congregate as a mass gathering when most of Irish society is trying to mitigate against the current health and economic damage from this virus.

There is a certain 'bandwagon' element to this protest where their sense of self-righteousness is more important than their responsibility to the rest of the country, during a global pandemic which still has large aspects of our economy shut down. I'm not aiming that bandwagon jibe at the people that have suffered first hand of racial abuse in Ireland. Some like to hop on a bandwagon of what the current cause is and they'll be onto something else in future.

Given the advancement of social media/awareness of social issues, there were other ways these protesters could've shown solidarity with the protests in the U.S. without putting the rest of the country at risk of a virus spike.

YouGov released the ratings for governments from around the world during the pandemic.

From the major nations; Unsurprisingly Boris and Trump are on the downslide, Italy and Sweden's government got slight ratings boosts, the biggest winner was Scott Morrison who looks to of saved his career after he pretty much didn't give a f**k during the bushfires, more concerning is that the biggest loser is Macron especially with Le Pen running again although it's still a good 2 years away, it's given her free ammunition.

I think anyone has the right to protest about anything they want but that protest was just stupid. For months now we've been told that if one person in a mass gathering has the virus then they can pass is on to numerous people.

George Floyd was a shocking death caused by racist cops.  Eejits today will probably cause more deaths than the cops in Minneapolis.

Virus is said not to be as contagious outside so mightn’t have an effect. Regardless we’ll know fairly quick as the crowds are much larger in US States and less distancing taking place!

Yeah the next 2 to 5 weeks in America will tell us a lot about the spread of the virus.
