No chance 3pm kick offs go.
I’d say it’s the opposite. League completed without fans. You get used to it very quickly.

Just out of interest, how many games a season in the UK would you attend yourself?
It's not a loaded question at all by the way - If the answer is zero that's fine.
I haven’t been to an EPL game since 2008 I think. Chelsea v Bolton on the final day of the season.

I’d go to 1 La Liga game per season, was at 2 this season though. Just LOI and Ireland games usually.

OK. So the perception of somebody who solely watches games on TV will differ greatly from people who go all the time. The likes of a 5.30pm game might suit people having a pint in the pub but the "awkward" times are really unpopular with fans - The 12.30pm start on a Saturday makes for a terrible atmosphere. And there are games now scheduled for times where fans can't travel back afterwards on public transport.
Now, at the moment there is no option but to continue without crowds but under normal circumstances games without crowds and atmosphere are not attractive to TV companies and they won't pay big bucks for them. They day isn't too far off where crowds will be dropping off and the Premier League will have a big decision to make.

I really don’t think it makes a huge difference if fans are there or not for TV companies. The EPL product will always attract a big fee. The lads abroad want to see their favourite footballer / team.
The main problem for TV companies is streaming for free.

And the top EPL teams want the corporate / tourist fans. Spurs get fans from South Korea flying in to see Son and spending a few hundred each in the shop every time.
They would prefer that to local Johnny going to 19 home games but spending very little inside.

I would say go take a look at how TV companies market the EPL coverage, particularly in Asia.

The paradox of the Premier League is that it markets itself on "authenticity" while simultaneously trying to destroy it

Ticket prices are high so young people tend not to go

Crowds now are made up of middle aged men and, at the big clubs, added tourists

This, along with all seater stadiums and mobile phones with all you can eat data kills atmospheres

Borussia Dortmund have become the hipsters' choice over the last two decades because they are seen as authentic, ie. they're a sort of throwback to when people in industrial areas flocked to the terraces of local football grounds

Fuenlabrada had about 20 players test positive. They had 6 players test positive initially which led to the postponement of their final league game against Deportivo.

They’re from the southern suburbs of Madrid. Must be rampant there again.

Agree with what you're saying, ironic now that Dortmund has become one of the prime bucketlist stadiums for  football-tourism

Wasn't their game called off completely? They missed out on the playoffs over it too.

The situation in Madrid and Barcelona is predominantly why the UK gov reimposed the quarantine rules, the Spanish govt appear to be in denial about it but it's the highest in Europe right now.

But yet the Real Madrid side are allowed to come over and play without quarantining afterwards even with having 1 of their test positive, it's crazy stuff.

Just off the phone with our u19s opposition tonight in LSL.

Match off as one of their players tested positive.

This is not going away.

Yeah, whole thing was a farce. A win would have put them in the playoffs. Elche get the playoff place. Depor were relegated anyway.

I’m sure they can change their strategy and focus on the *star* players / teams / managers.
That’s the attraction.
People pay to watch the match.
They can easily add the sound effects ... sure they could add in CGI fans if they wanted too.
It really won’t hurt the TV companies like you are saying.

An
@AberdeenFC
player has tested positive for coronavirus, putting Saturday’s Premiership meeting with St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park under threat

Rumours some of the players were out drinking on Saturday after the Sevco game
Probably out on the Friday night too going by their awful performance
