This lad has been sensational all season for Newcastle. Outstanding again tonight, their best player this season according to many Geordies

Ciaran Clark is quite well known in Italy, it seems
You asked if I'd be anyone from history, fact or fiction, dead or alive:
I said "I'd be Tony Cascarino, circa 1995"

Immense today, kept Newcastle in the game at times and made a great clearance near the end to safeguard the 3 points

Scores an own goal, poor communication between him and the goalkeeper.

You'd have to blame Darlow more than Clark. If he shouts he leaves it he takes it.

Darlow stay on his line Clark heads it back to him

Darlow should have given him a shout alright, but Clark really shouldn't have headed it when he was on the stretch like that, he was asking for trouble. He took a heavy knock in the first half which resulted in a bad cut and some grogginess, I was surprised they let him stay on.
We're decent enough..

Really hope Clark is a regular next season, but I think Newcastle might bring in another 2 defenders. Lots of competition there

By all accounts he's been their best defender all season.  Good to see him back.  Nice PL centre-half pairing for us now!

No doubt Rafa will make a fair number of signings, but after Clark's performances this season, he should be good to be a starter at the outset of the season.

He seems to have been earmarked by Benitez as a leader too, which is perhaps even more important than the level of his performances this season. There would be no real issue with finding an upgrade on a player who performed well at Championship level, but you're less likely to dispose of a guy who's one of the core leaders in your group too.

Also made a goal line clearance after Elliot probably should have done better.

Abolutely attrocious error there almost gifting Liverpool a goal.  If I had my way I wouldn't pick him or Duffy
