Nooooooooooooooooo

Always wanted to see TSV 1860 in the Grunwald.   Planned my flight back from Antalya to arrive in Munich Saturday morning for the VfR Garching game and just seen it has been moved to Friday night.

Any thoughts on an alternative.  None of the 3rd division games seem within reach.

Bummer!

Hadn't realised TSV had moved back to the Grunwald (following relegation?). It's a stadium I'd like to visit maybe someday, too, seeing as it, and NOT the purported Olympiastadion, was the actual venue for one of my all-time favourite football matches:

Some background here

They are playing there this season and selling out too.  A friend tried to watch 1860 and Bayern last September - no problem getting a ticket for Bayern but couldn't get in to the 1860 game.

I've wanted to go there since the late 80's when a colleague gave vivid descriptions of games then.

GS
Yes the match was only changed recently. I had a quick look at there are no other games on nearby on the Saturday (not on the S bahn anyway) . 1860's U21 play at the training ground just down the road from the Grunwalder on the 24th
http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/regionalliga/rlby/regionalliga-bayern-2012/2017-18/29/0/spieltag.html

Had a look at Unterhaching but they are also away that weekend

We have our season tickets (over subscribed) and you would have been hard pushed to get a ticket on the day. All home matches in the regionalliga have been sold out (though they do sell tickets for the "Away" end if there is not a large away contingent)

Our first match after the winter break is away against Nürnberg II for which 1860 are taking 11 thousand fans

The current capacity is 12500 or so . They will do up some more of the terracing to increase capacity to close to 15K by the next season . If we stay top of the Bayern league there playoffs against the winners of other regional leagues to take 3 places in Bundesliga III

cheers BiM will think about the training ground.  Rosenheim is the closest senior game I assume.  Any of the others really good atmosphere wise?  I could rent a car but not sure I want to do too much driving after an early flight.

Winning the Bayern league shouldn't be a problem now.  Can you stay in the stadium if you win the playoffs and reach the 3rd Liga?

The most comical goalkeeping error you'll ever see in your lifetime in the 2. Bundesliga yesterday

Ingolstatd goalkeeper route ones it out and the striker is through on goal but the Duisberg goalkeeper hasn't a clue what's going on because he's got his back from the action too busy taking a drink break, he turns around again and the ball's already in the net LOLLOL

Are Dortmund fans boycotting all games now, regardless of whether they are on Mondays or not, over Monday night football?

Jan Age Fjortoft not too optimistic about the Bundesliga just now:

New yawn emerging in German football

GERMANY have won the World Cup four times and lost in the final on a further four occasions. They have produced some of the world’s best players like Franz Beckenbauer, Gerd Muller, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Lothar Matthaus and Philipp Lahm.

They have a fantastic fan culture and have been selling out their stadiums for years. But now the Germans are bored and worried.

Bored because Bayern Munich win the Bundesliga year after year. Champions five times in a row, they currently hold a 19-point lead at the top of the table.

Just 15,000 fans came to the Marienplatz in Munich to celebrate Bayern’s triumph last year. Compare that to the 200,000 who celebrated Borussia Dortmund’s title success in 2012.

Those who love German football have a lot of things to worry about.

Firstly, their best players are leaving. Bayern manage to keep some of them but last Sunday’s Carabao Cup final told a story; Leroy Sane, Ilkay Gundogan, Per Mertesacker, Shkodran Mustafi, Granit Xhaka, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and winning captain Vincent Kompany all used to play in the Bundesliga.

Secondly, Germany has not had a Brexit like the UK but they are getting used to early exits from Europe. Bayern remain in the Champions League and Dortmund saved themselves at the end of their Europa League tie with Atalanta, but they are rare rays of light. German teams have been doing so badly in recent years they could lose a Champions League spot or two to the French league.

The 50+1 rule which ensures members own their clubs has been praised for many years but it also creates a great disadvantage when faced by the scale of investment at PSG and Manchester City.

It’s good for Bayern. They have the money. And to be fair to them, they have the money because they are well managed. But they too miss out on the superstars.

When you have the likes of Aubameyang and Ousmane Dembele trying to force a move away from Dortmund — and succeeding — it is bad for the image of the Bundesliga.

So German football is in a sad place at the moment. So of course Bayern will probably win the Champions League and Germany will lift the World Cup!

And he reckons that it's not just a case of Bayern being too good (as with City in the EPL?), but the rest are too bad:

Bayern have announced the Regional liga game between Bayern II and 1860 to be played in the Allianz Arena
B'tards just want our money
http://www.tsv1860.de/de/Aktuelles_News/3571.htm

Liga.

So the Bundesliga survives another 2 weeks at least : Schalke win and Bayern lose
HSV are beaten at home be Hertha so are bottom of the table
Some taunting by the away fans after the match

They failed to persuade Heynkes to stay on so? That was their number 1 aim was it?
"I called him an embarrassment to FIFA and to himself," .... He said 'No-one speaks to me like that'.... and I said, "well I do' and that was that."
