The contact may have been minimal, but sometimes that's all it needs to take someone down when he's running at top speed.

More pertinently, why would Son deliberately go down?

He was clearly past Gunn, with the ball well under control and a tap in from 4 yards to convert, without another Saint in sight.

I must have been nearly 150 yards away at the opposite end of the stadium and from the whole sequence - run, evasion and tumble - I'd have stuck my mortgage on it being a penalty.

And not even VAR would have dared turn it down LOL

Must be the same system the FAI have at Lansdowne for counting tickets. The place is always half empty, your eyes dont lie.

Chris Waddle's haircut LOL

For the older folk on here, was he overrated like most English internationals or a genuinely classy player?

Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.

From what I remember he was criminally underrated in England. He was world class and was only really recognised as such when he left England. He is god in Marseille.

Haircuts and music don’t seem to be his strong points though!

True....I remember him at marseille on their European cup run when he was ghosting past full backs..then at Sheffield Wednesday he was given a more free roll (less running back) and he was unbelievable.as has been said he was world class.
