I dont think Idah will ever be a prolific goal scorer but has shown enough attributes to indicate hell have a 10-15 year career at championship level - with the right club and manager \ coaching maybe a few seasons in the EPL. Jonathan Walters bounced around the lower leagues in his early 20's before his game matured and was 27 when he made his debut for us.

Forward line is very much a problem area for us. Robbie Keane has long retired and we've had a few stop gap replacements to chip in and score goals in Shane Long, Walters, mcclean.

Those stop gaps are now also gone (mcclean played further down the pitch now)

What we're left with is 5 options

1. Connolly - injury prone and hasnt scored. Still our best
2. Keane - new to the team
3. Idah - never really looked liked scoring, needs to get club football.
4. Parrott - still developing his game
5. Robinson - probably our best forward option at the moment.

I seen Norwich were playing a 5-3-2 formation against Burley, well according to BBC. If they keep playing this formation with two up front and three at the back, hopefully it would give Idah and Omobamidele more of a chance of getting into the starting line-up with an injury/suspension/loss of form.

As much as our forward line is a problem area, we still badly need a playmaker that can create chances for our forward players. Don't see that possibly improving until the younger age groups of Moran and Zefi start breaking into senior football or some dual national player comes from nowhere.

The English lads on some forum seem to think Matt O'Riley at MK Dons is eligible for us. Anyone ever heard anything about him because he looks to be a tidy player who has the attitudes to play in the premier league.

His wikipedia page suggests he's eligible for Denmark and Norway strangely enough!

I would think that Smallbone, kilkenny and a little longer shot Ronan could provide some creative quality.

Not suggesting great white hopes here as none have really been tested at any level but Smallbone looked like getting some premier league minutes before injury, kilkenny has a tidy range of passing that's desperately missing and Ronan will hope to kick on at St mirren.

Yeah hopefully those three can kick on a bit more this season with the nations league next summer giving us four games in 12 days.

Smallbone has had his injury issues but will be returning to play during the internationals according to Crawford. Was asked to come in and train with the U21s but Southampton have games organised.

Kilkenny will probably have to go on loan if first team minutes don't come his way. Showed in the first few games that he's up to playing in the championship and will hopefully get a good loan move.

Ronan has started very well at St Mirren. Kenny named checked him in his press conference but said he needs a sustained period of games. Could see him being brought in for Marches friendlies.

Yeah was in English and Danish training camps when younger but they think its possible Denmark and Ireland rather than Denmark and Norway.

I admire the fact he turned down a new contract at Fulham as well to go to Mk Dons and get going. He had a big reputation with them.

10) Idah deserves chance as Canaries need goals.

Norwich have scored just twice in their seven league games, three fewer than any other team, while only Newcastle have conceded as many as their 16. These are worrying statistics, so given Daniel Farke has few defensive options, perhaps he needs to reimagine his attack. Teemu Pukki is undroppable – without him, that goals-for tally would still sit at zero – but it is time that Adam Idah, who has started every game bar one on the bench, was given a run. During the last international break, Stephen Kenny picked him for all three of Ireland’s games and was rewarded with decent showings. Idah’s qualities of pace, touch, strength and mentality are extremely transferable to a relegation battle, and though it’s unlikely he’ll return the numbers to save Norwich, by running channels and holding it up he’ll give them an out-ball, taking pressure off their defence and building their attackers a platform. In an interview with the Athletic:

O’Riley may have another decision to make regarding his international future. He has represented England Under-16s and Under-18s but he is also eligible for Denmark, through his mother Gitte, and Norway, through his maternal grandfather. Of the two, Denmark could pull him away. “I feel quite Danish,” he says. “I’ve got a lot of family in Denmark, who I’m close to. I’ve visited a few times, I can speak Danish pretty well. When it came to the Euros, I didn’t know what to do, but I did celebrate Denmark’s goal as well as England’s. I know that will annoy a lot of people!”

nice to see him recognized by a good journalist. has played far more minutes for ireland so far this season than for norwich, 36 mins across 5 premier league apps. really hope he gets a chance, he is kind of in that gray area between first team and it being obvious he should go on loan

With the shocker Sargent had today, Idah will hopefully get more chances.

Sargent is getting a bit of a lashing alright on social media. As crazy as this sounds are Idah and Omobamidele almost better off not in the firing line every week playing for this team short term? They aren't winning football matches and I suspect it's going to be a long season for them not exactly playing great either.

When they inevitably go down or it's confirmed you might see Farke play them and a few other youngsters with an eye to the Championship next season.

After watching MOTD tonight, Idah should get his chance ahead of Sargeant soon- a dreadful player

It's infuriating that Idah keeps getting a minute or two at the end of games. It's at the point of matches where you'd wonder what is the point in even making a substitute, there's a decent chance he won't even get a touch of the ball when he comes on so how is he ever meant to impress?

Read a thread on the Norwich fan website about how to fix their goal scoring problems. About 20 posts  - and not a mention in the entire thread of Idah. Can't figure it out. How can you judge a lad on 5 mins here and there? Pretty sure his only start this year was against Liverpool in the league Cup. His only PL start remains at Old Trafford, up front on his own as an 18 yrar old, two seasons ago. Way to give a young striker a chance.....
