"Following news that Panama's first goal did not appear to cross the line, Sepp Blatter has sensationally agreed that the USA will join the 2018 World Cup in Russia as the tournament's 33rd team...."

If they don’t get a replay they will probably get a cheque for $5 million dollars instead.

The Yanks won't lower themselves to make a complaint like that.

6 team group three aoutomatic qualify and a 4th get a play off with the standard very low. Utter joke of a qualifying system.

Romario 2016: And the ticket mafia gets caught! Well, four years ago I had already told the government.

I know, it was more in reference to the huge t.v revenue FIFA are now going to miss out on. They will not be happy campers about 'Murica failing to qualify.

Wow, just seen the 'goal' wasn't even close!! Their players didn't even claim it had gone in from the amount I seen.
But the USA lost their game. They only have themselves to blame.
If they really go back and replay this, they'll need to replay alot of games and we learnt the hard way. The refs decision is final.

Edit:it should have been a penalty though. So maybe they would have scored anyway.

That is a fair bit of travel alright, The least travel time (abroad) for those would be about 8 hours

Sure Sydney to Perth would be about 4-5 hours madness

The inter-confederation playoffs are now done on a draw. It was just chance that it was Oceania v South America and Asia v North America.

It's their own bloody fault, considering they shouldn't be in the Asian Confederation in the first place.

Send them back to Oceania, I say, and kick Kazakhstan out of UEFA to take their place.

Then allow the Channel Islands to take the Kazahks' place in Europe.

Sorted! Thumbs Up

I watched the end of their match against Syria. It went over to their TV coverage and their version of Darragh Maloney said this is one of the most average squads we've ever had but they really have great spirit. So it seems like a very similar situation to ourselves.

Cahill is 38 in december. Great way for him to finish if they qualify.

Rogic and Mooy the best of the bad bunch but not the same people at club level

The 2018 World Cup is going to be drawn entirely based on seeding. There won't be geographical pots, just seeded pots. It's all going off the October rankings, not the November rankings.

Now, I imagine they'll have the same restrictions so that you can't have more than two European teams in one group, and you can't have more than one team from one other confederation in a group, but it is interesting that they're going to do it entirely on rankings. It might make the actual draw itself even more complex.

Incidentally, if we qualify, we will be third seeds.
