26 fouls from the Dutch in 90 minutes and only 1 of their players booked. If the refereeing continues as it is a team like that will certainly have a chance of winning the tournament.

7 fouls by Lens no yellow card.
5 fouls by De Jong no yellow card.
7 fouls by Blind rightfully booked, could have been more but too little too late.

Both teams only played at 80%. Very disappointing...thought the Chileans would go for it more given the likely opposition in the next round.

Holland are doing what's required.
If they were to go and push up the field and start attacking teams they'd be killed at the back.
I still feel they will be. They are goin to go behind again in the tournament and could be done on the counter themselves quite easily.
Blind, in particular, is going to get done sooner rather than later.

Ref took an age to book Blind, he was persistently at it. Dunno how Lens stayed out of the book. Darragh Maloney just mentioned that the Dutch have given away the most free kicks in the tournament so far.

When you manage to make 25 fouls against Australia you've got problems.


Dutch are always known for it tho. I wouldn't mind when they concentrate on playing ball they can be a joy to watch. If you cast the mind back to world cup '06 Dutch v Portugal I think there was something like 4 sent off and 15 or 16 yellow cards.

Anyway Chile had a lot to play for so they could afford to go all out attack and the dutch had everything to lose given ther were in 1st position.
