Seems like England have proper fooked their chances of 2018. Hard to believe some of their own press have gone against them FFS. I'd love to see them get it; imagine having a world cup just across the channel and having the chance of us actually making it. Instead IF we made it, it could be Russia.

Without being biased I'd love to see the Ozzies get 2022. This country is sports mad with incredible stadiums all over the place. A bit of a trip to get out here, but it's well worth it. With the amount of Irish out here already, we'd have some fan base if we did make it.

Long way away but the decisions are to be made on December 2nd

Hoping Holland & Belgium to win the bid for 2018. Obviously a bit biased as it's a handy number for me, but in all honesty, it makes a lot of sense.

Amsterdam Airport one of the main airports in Europe, and thus more than enough options for fans from all-over to travel to it. Also over land it's an easy to get to option. Then again, this point is also valid for England, USA and OZ. However, not for the likes of Quatar.

The stadiums are pretty much ready for it here, although some would need work done to expand in terms of capacity. This also works for England, USA and OZ of course.

The main winner though is the infrastructure here, and more importantly the distance. You could travel from the northernmost stadium in The Netherland, to the southernmost stadium in Belgium and it would be max 4 hours over land by car, train, bus etc. So very easy for the fans to travel between games, and also not going to cost fans a fortune in flighttickets etc. They can even base themselve in 1 town for accommodation and move about from there.

Fingers crossed for the 2nd of December!

Sick of these far away tournaments.

Hummmm England would be dead easy to get to but would love to see Oz get it as HM says they are real nuts about sport and would put on a top show . Would not be happy with Russia again massive country to get around which is the same as Oz come to think of it .

Anyone but England in fairness. It just would'nt feel special going to stadiums that we all know inside out to watch the world cup. I have the same feelings when the Champions League final was played in Manchester and this year at Wembley.

I'm hoping the Ruski's get it as there host cities are in great locations, although the Netherlands/Belgium and Spain/Portugal tournaments would be fantastic as well.

I wouldnt rule out Engand getting it. Paris had the olympic games sown up supposedly only to to lose out at the last minute to London.  They (the english) have obviouslt learnt how to grease a few palms and massage a few egos. They are probably due it but would be funny if they didnt get it again. Having said that they done the dirt on Germany promising to support their WC bid for 2006 after they supported their 96 Euros only to renagege and try for it themeslves - so feck them

some quality looking stadiums Clap

Doha Port Stadium

The new Doha Port Stadium will be a completely modular stadium with 44,950 seats. The stadium, which will sit on an artificial peninsula in the Gulf, is designed to evoke its marine setting. Water from the Gulf will run over its outer facade, aiding in the cooling process and adding to its visual allure. Fans will have the option of arriving on a water taxi or ferry. After the FIFA World Cup™, the whole stadium will be disassembled and the seats sent to developing countries to further their football development. Confused

Stadiums are deadly, but infrastructure to get there is so-so. Was there in '05 and Doha is a nice spot and weather is great, but way too hot in summer. Also not much to do outside the city, nor is there much nightlife. Oh, and hotels cost a bundle!

Not great from a fans point.

USA to get World Cup 2022, you can bet on it.  Australia could be good, but there would be trouble as a World Cup will clash with the rugby season.  And apparently the Aussie rugby authorities are refusing to halt their season and hand over their stadiums for a month.

England appear to have scuppered their chances of 2018 becuase of the TV and paper investigations into FIFA bribery and corruption.  And you know what?  Good for them.  You have to ask, is it worth winning the rights to host a World Cup if it entails sucking up to, shall we say, not-exactly-whiter-than-white characters like Sepp Blatter and Jack Warner?

The Qatar bid is a mad one and how it got so far already is enough for me to think they have a chance, air conditioned stadiums, a plan for after the tournament is over, pissing money, time zone not completly crazy, its got enough although from a fan point of view seems a nightmare, red heads beware!! Anyone bar Russia for 2018 for me, easy to get to so wont be a problem.

World cup report for 2018 produced the below findings yesterday. It'll be a close call. Seems like the Ozzies and South Korea are favourites for 2022. Surely Australia should get it ahead of South Korea given it was only held there in 2002 FFS. Mate of mine lived in South Korea and he said they have all these massive stadiums around the country from the world cup which are only used for the J League and only fill a few thousand fans with the rest being empty. What a waste.

WORLD CUP BID REPORTS
ENGLAND BID
Good points: Transport, stadia, IT, security, marketing, legacy
Bad points: Too few venue-specific training sites or venue-specific team hotels, too few training base camp hotels
SPAIN/PORTUGAL BID
Good points: Stadia, transport, hotels, legacy
Bad points: Lack of clear security plan, co-hosting "a challenge"
RUSSIA BID
Good points: 13 planned new stadia, hotels, legacy
Bad points: Huge transport challenge and major building programme needed
NETHERLANDS/BELGIUM BID
Good points: Stadia, legacy
Bad points: Too few hotel rooms, co-hosting "a challenge", lack of government guarantees
