Does Delap deserve a call up? He's causing quite a stir in the Premiership this season with his throw ins and he cant be a bad defender if he's alway getting his game.....unlike other Ireland players at Stoke.....

Anyway, I've heard Bruce could be called up into the first team from the B team which i think is a joke to be honest. He cant even get in at Ipswich at the mo and i just dont think he's up to it.

Anyway, just check out what Delap's gaffer said about him just this morning;

Pulis praises Delap long throws

Rory%20Delap
Delap joined Stoke from Sunderland in October 2006

Stoke City manager Tony Pulis believes teams in the Premier League cannot cope with Rory Delap's long throw-ins.

Of the Potters' eight Premier League goals this season, five have come as a result of a Delap throw-in.

Pulis told BBC Radio Stoke: "He's such an important asset for us and teams in the Premier League don't seem to be able to cope.

"Even Portsmouth, who have a big side, every time Rory threw the ball in they were frightened to death."

defo man. He's got a weapon that needs to be used, and he's better than McShane or the other dross we have.

id have him in the squad, id trial him against cyprus anyway, his throws are ridiculous, if we still had quinny in the 6 yard box getting on the end of them we would be laughing..McShane is playing well on the right as well, but delaps danger from the throw ins cannot be ignored..

He's gotta be better than Bruce and though I don't mind McShane, he's still an accident waiting to happen.  Great attacking option and he's versatile as fook.  Should be in the squad at least........

I'm not talking about a starting position Erimus, just a squad place. As far as i know he's not even in the B team....it's not as if we're blessed with players that get their game for a premiership side

Kevin Doyle is great in the air so Delap throws could be a way of getting goals, they certainly would find it hard to defend against that, somehow I cant see Trap going for that though think he will stick to his way of winning games.

When Harte was a regular, I always prayed for the introduction of American Football "Offence/Defence" type rules, where you bring on the players to suit your play.

That way we could have had him sitting on the sidelines for 89 minutes and 30 seconds of every game, and just whip him and his sainted peg on if we managed to get a free in a good position.

I feel the same about Delap : He'd be great to throw on (pardon the pun) whenever we got a throw-in up in the top third of the pitch, but otherwise he'd be just a so-so addition to the first team.

Personal opinions aside, I thought he would have been named in the B squad though...

Good option to have for last 10mins of a game if we need a goal...some statistic alright.
Ridiculous he's not even in the B squad
