Followed up with "I don't think it will keep him out for too long", I guess perhaps Martin initially thought it was innocuous but it's more like something that will keep him out for a month.

The Athletic reporting that he's on the verge of signing a three year contract with Southampton with an option of a fourth year.

Good stuff.
He seems to be a first team starter for Southampton now. Hopefully another injury free season of championship first team football under his belt, it is mad that last season was his first full season playing senior football at 23yo, all due too those awful injuries. Hopefully Southampton can get promoted at the end of this season, it would be goid for Bazunu and Manning too. He has the potential to tick a few boxes of what we are lacking in midfield. Any word on his current injury status? Will he be fit enough to make the next squad?

Thought he was the only midfielder we had last night that emerged from the game with some credit. Delivery from dead ball situations was solid and he ran himself into the ground. The one player that tried to make something happen.
