Its probably Paul Green.

Pied Piper to: Baldrick, Brendan 88, 9Fingers, Borussia and more...

Hunt or Fahey they both have had a lot of problems with injuries this season.
Trap and the FAI can't help themselves making things more complicated than they should be.

I was thinking this. From all the quotes ive been able to find of Traps interviews at the weekend, he didnt once "namecheck" Green.

Trapattoni-"Unfortunately our best player cannot come. This is life. Paul Green sent me an sms today saying he didnt feel the standard of the squad matched up to his own talents and has switched allegiance to Spain. Unfotunately we cannot always have things go well."

Would be devastated if it ended up being Duff. The lad really deserves to go and play as its surely his last craic at a major tournament.
Up there for thinking. Down there for dancing

And is it what is still thought? JD didnt deny it. Hard to fathom if its not an op.

Was Duff not only out for 1 game and that was a month ago if not more? Anyway we can speculate til the cows come home, so Im going to go for Hunt - havent heard his big mouth lately.

EDIT: He came on at the weekend. Ill go for Walters

It may well be, but I certainly didn’t know about it!

But this is the sh*te trap and Delaney are gona cause – people speculating on who it is, the personal reason for it,etc. I’m sure there’ll be pleanty of rumours and theories floating about until it is revealed!

They should have said nothing at all until they were in a position to name the player

Journalist asked the question, obviously knowing the answer and Delaney was trying to fudge the issue, should he have lied to the media???? Probably IMO but then he would have been slaughtered when it came out.

Was there any need for the journo to print the strory, IMO no, and by printing and not naming names is causing speculation.

Either way nothing anyone can do about it and I doubt if it will affect performances apart from obviously missing the player.

I certainly hope its due to a player needing an operation rather than a players child being unwell.
I know nothing :-)
