Ok loads of differences of opinion re wether Suarez deserves to be called a 'Liverpool Legend' or not - If you bring up Roy Keane you end up with the same sort of contention.

I am wondering who people think are the real legends of International football and why?

You would be hard pushed to find a really great player without somesort of a negative trait, a really great anything for that mater - Fergie is a bully - Keane a thug with a short fuse - Maradonna - a coke problem - Baloteli - not right in the head - Gaza - Drink and drugs - George best - Alcoholic womaniser - The list goes on and on -

Who is the perfect legend and why can't people accept the bad with the good in players???

i think you need a very long consistently good  service to a club to be a legend.

you coudl not call cantona a leeds legend for example even though he helped them win the league when he was there and was class for them.

likewise i wouldnt be calling drogba a marseille legend ( of course he is a chelsea one) but tony cas is definitely a legend there.

it is subjective but service , skill and awards all add up to legend.

behaviour does not really factor, club fans forgive their own players all sins as we have seen
The first time the Devil made me do it. The second time I did it on my own.

Dont think any personal problems stop players being legends. McGrath, Keane, Maradona etc are all still legends for their countrys

I think they all do well to remain sane under the spotlight -

I was shocked at some of the holier than thou comments about Suarez -

Messi in fairness to him makes all his best points with the ball, all energy in the play - which is a really great trait, but you could not have a team of Messi's you need all sorts to make a good team -

Roy keane in the tunnel with Vierra is my favourite - the face on Keane what a captain - would ye cross him - I loved the way he always made talking actions with his hands and went 'ya ya ya' entertaining on all levels.
