His biggest mistake is not realising that politics is about people, not profit and loss as it would be with his organisation. The democratic process is slow, at times tedious, and you can't just click your fingers and get things done like you would in the private sector. He's admitted that he's found it difficult to adjust to. 

That said, I'm generally happy with the job he's done so far. Beyond the establishment's hysteria over the odd tweet or two, he's created more than a million more new jobs so far, and that's bread on the table for those people. And more again when the tax reform proposals go through.
