There's no point reasoning with some people. We know fully well the social justice warriors acting as if it's acceptable for a professional footballer to call someone a sectarian slur would be taking a completely different tack if it was James McClean throwing the slur around or if it was someone in our squad making slurs against Albanians or Romanians. Someone with the form for making the kind of comments Lafferty has, it's not a stretch to think that their intolerance goes further than hating Catholics. The inference and subtext with a lot of the hatred is that "Fenians" are the same level as, or lower, than black people, which is incredibly stupid on so many levels, but we're talking about people raised in a triumphalist culture centered around hatred and suspicion who think they're automatically better than other groups of people as a birthright. As stupid as he is, the way he was raised, he's almost a victim of it as well. 35 and going to nightclubs throwing slurs around (while he's walking away, of course). Everything about him is pathetic.
