Some interesting results tonight, Kenny Shiels may be a very odd little man but he is doing a super job in Derry. It looks like it will be a long season for Pats, they are away to Dundalk next too. Job done from City's point of view, 4 games against teams expected to be in the bottom 6 and 4 wins, next up a trip to the windy house, which should be a little trickier.

Good momentum going into the rovers game from a cork point of view. 4 expected wins from 4, games v shams and Dundalk in the next two weeks will tell a lot. Think we are in a good place once we hold onto and keep seanie injury free.

Great result for Harps...We looked atrocious in the first 20 but were much better after. Bit of a smash and grab but we'll take it...Houston superb again. Was the best bit of business that we did this summer resigning him

Great 4 days for us, two wins against sides who were touted by most as better than us. Dinny could be invaluable this season and Keith Ward playing really well. Winnable game coming up against Galway on Friday, hopefully three on the bounce.

Great win tonight for donegal's biggest club in maginn park and thoroughly deserved. Passed dundalk off the pitch- I can't see them running away with it this year, replaced quality with mediocrity and hard to belief that conor Clifford played in England- got a battering tonight

He was playing for Boreham Wood and not lifting too many trees either.

Haven't yet seen Dundalk in a full game but I do wonder how much more often they can keep pulling the rabbit out of the hat. Losing Horgan, Finn and Boyle is absolutely huge for a team that were pushed reasonably close last year with those three. Kenny was on about McEleney taking up the mantle of talisman but how much can he realistically be expected to compensate for?

I saw him when Dundalk were down here. Admittedly only one game but looked every inch a lad that's spent the last few years playing in front of 500 people. Didn't look as lean as the rest of the Dundalk players.
Long way back if he fancies playing league football in England.
I won the Player of the Century award thanks to the people.Pele was second. He also came second behind Aryton Senna as Brazil's greatest sportsman. The award FIFA gave Pele isn't worth sh*t - Maradona

It is very early to be writing them off, especially as I think it says more about Derry than it does Dundalk. The game against City will tell us more, as will City's next two games. Derry have won at the windy house and beaten Dundalk, it looks like they are going to have a go at it, there are probably questions over their strength in depth though.
As for Clifford, I think in reality it showed a lot about the league's true position. The champion's star signing was a player for a mid-table conference side and no league side would take a gamble on. He certainly has ability, it could turn out to be a great signing if Kenny can turn them around, but he, along with McEleny, is under big pressure. It is now or never for him really.
It is certainly a big ask for Kenny to keep replacing star players on a shoestring budget though, odds would suggest he can't do it ever year.

Good to get back to winning ways quickly albeit hardly too convincing from bits I saw

Sligo and Limerick before Derry away so two games to seal up at the back, would probably take four points from those first two now, how times have changed saying that!

When Shields and O'Donnell are fit, Clifford wont be on, so hardly our star signing.

Our star signing was Michael Duffy, has shown glimpses so far but he was terrible last night! Long trip home after that display. Hopefully Rogers is back for Cork if not this weekend.
2 in a row and we won it in Tallaght

Michael Duffy was the star? Fair enough, I think that reflects worse on the league. Not good enough for Dundee, did alright at a semi-professional club that finished bottom of the Scottish second tier. It is potato/potata stuff.
