The Stone Roses to play Dublin gig

The Stone Roses will play a gig at Dublin's Phoenix Park in July as part of their extensive reunion tour.

Tickets for the July 5th, 2012 Dublin leg of their tour go on sale at 8am next Tuesday, December 20, priced at €66.50 and are limited to six per person.

The band officially announced their reunion at a press conference in London in October.

The Stone Roses, singer Ian Brown, guitarist John Squire, bassist Gary 'Mani' Mounfield and drummer Alan 'Reni' Wren, fell apart in 1995 and 1996, with Brown and Squire estranged for many years.

Brown said of their reunion: "It's not a trip down memory lane. We are doing new songs."

This for me is a major hint that Oxegen is a doubt for this year. Normally (apart from rare occasions) the headliners at T in the Park and Oxegen line up the same. Stone Roses are headlining T in the Park and this gig is on just a few days prior to that, and Oxegen. My opinion is that if Oxegen was happening, they would be playing that and not this Pheonix Park gig.

Either way, delighted they're coming and that it's not in Slane Big smile
