Not sure if mentioned but the ferry to Holyhead and then a £20 flight down to Carsiff is also an option.

Never even thought of it!
The problem is the timing of the flights. 08:55 and 17:30. For the first one, that either means a night in Holyhead, or a 02:15 ferry arriving at 05:45. For the later one, that means a morning ferry from Dublin and a good few hours in Holyhead - you'd be quicker just taking the train direct to Cardiff from Holyhead. Plus, as it lands at 18:20, it's too risky to take on matchday. Getting the train, which is cheaper than flying when included on a sail rail ticket, you get to Cardiff at 17:22, which is fine for a 19:45 kick off. So the flights look like an option on the way over, but they're not really. Coming back, it might be an option, if you are happy to get back into Dublin at 23:45. However, you can do the same way cheaper by taking the train the whole way, leaving at 14:05. With the flight at 15:30, you'd be leaving the centre of Cardiff at the same time anyway. In short, it's more expensive and it doesn't save time, compared to just booking one sailrail ticket and taking the train the whole way from Cardiff to Holyhead, plus you can't really do it reliably on matchday. You could get the 2.15 swift lands in Holyhead @4.15 and then bate down to Anglsey for the 5.30 flight , tight but reckon you could make it .

It's tight to make the flight, and tight from the airport in Cardiff to the game, plus the swift is often cancelled on account of high waves.
It's very risky. You're as well catching the early boat, in which case you may as well take the train the whole way. |

Our plan for the Anglesey - Cardiff flight is to get the morning ferry over the day before the match and spend a few hours pinting in Holyhead or somewhere nearby. Aye, not the most glamorous of destinations but I've spent plenty of time in Cardiff already so it's a change of scenery for a few hours at least.

There are a couple of weird little boozers by the ferry. Fairly shameless like but very welcoming |

Do we reckon there's going to be much of a scramble for tickets for this or will everyone get sorted?

In short, no. A Thursday night in Cardiff for something a bit more important than a friendly and a bit less important than a qualifier isn't really the type of occasion that the one off big game fans will be attracted to. Maybe 1200-1500, there would be a lot of UK based fans would go alright as it is relatively handy for them. Don't think there will be any need to do ticket deals, I'd say the Fai will welcome any amount of Welsh fans to the reverse fixture, we won't be near selling it out on our own. |

No, fact Aer Lingus had to lower their prices for their single flight out and back says a lot.
