We know Ryanair have had a bad reputation for the way they treat passengers but at least they don't resort to getting passengers physically dragged out of their seat and hauled off the aircraft...Shocked

United Airlines can say what they like about the passenger being disruptive but there's surely no way this can end well for them.

Oh yeah, like the fact that he is a doctor means that he is a great guy and incapable of doing anything bad.

What about Dr Evil, Dr Death, Dr Phosphorus or Dr Ben Carson?

After our team looked for volunteers, one customer refused to leave the aircraft voluntarily and law enforcement was asked to come to the gate

He is going to get a huge payout from that airline.Crazy situation.

Well he didn't look the type of boy that would have been clapping his hands and singing "lager lager lager lager mega mega white thing",  or shouting get your tits out for the lads at the air hostesses.

Exactly. If United Airlines thought this guy was being disruptive and belligerent, then they should try running Saturday night flights from Gatwick to the likes of Ibiza and Majorca in the summer and see how they get on. LOL

They've clearly picked the wrong man and will pay the price for it, not just what the courts order them to pay out but now the damage to their reputation.

Did nobody even ask him why he absolutely needed to be on that flight when they were picking him or use any sort of common sense? I Just heard on the radio that when security officers arrived on the aircraft, they just grabbed hold of him and hauled him out without even introducing themselves and giving him a final warning as to what they were prepared to do next if he didn't co-operate. They've not surprisingly been placed on leave. LOL

They said he "refused to voluntarily give up his seat".  How can you refuse to voluntarily give up anything?

Was he just randomly picked to be the guy that wasn't allowed on or what?

I flew with them a few years back. Not great at all.

offered 800 notes and a hotel. amazingly no takers so they picked him by lottery and he refused.

imagine ryanair offered 800 notes and a hotel to a flight from dublin? you'd have a scramble to get off the fooker.

I've read online he won't be getting any sort of payout from it. Once they voluntarily remove you from a flight you are by law trespassing if you remain in your seat.

If it's overbooked by 4 seats, why the f**k don't they just go "oh who were the last 4 people to book seats? right so, you, you, you and you, hard luck, here's a few hundred quid and a night in a hotel, you can get on the next flight".

It happened 3 friendss of mine when they were coming home from New York. They werent given a choice, weren't let board the plane.

They made a few announcements about volunteers as they were over booked ,when there was no one taking the offer they stopped the last 6 or 7 people and gave them cash and a hotel room for the night.

They kicked that fella off as they needed seats for staff to go to connecting routes/work.
