Another Irish youngster off to join Preston North End.

Jimmy Corcoran scored 5-8 for his local GAA side in his last game before heading over to Preston.

He's also an Ireland under 16 international.

Ryan Johansson scored for Bayern Munich U17 yesterday against SV Elversberg.

(His mother is from Mullingar. He was born in Luxembourg to a Swedish father.)

He has played for both Luxembourg and Sweden at underage level, suggesting we're possibly his third choice.

If the FAI can't be arsed flying over to watch Ryan Nolan playing for Inter Milan's 19's then I wouldn't be too confident that they'll convince Johansson to play for us.

If he's played for 2 countries he can't play for a third. You can only swap allegiance once regardless of whether you've played in friendlies or competitive games.
Jackie Charlton, Eoin Hand
Johnny Giles. Ireland
Mick McCarthy, Stephen Staunton
Cascarino
Tony Galvin, Niall Quinn
Packie doesn't let em in
North of Ireland
South of Ireland

It is very unlikely he hasn't played for both countries at a FIFA recognised level.

Johansson remains eligible, his appearances for Luxembourg were non competitive IIRC

Johansson has played for Luxembourg's under-17's in elite round qualifying games, which are recognized by FIFA / UEFA.

He previously played for Luxembourg's under-16's and then played for Sweden's under-16's right before making his under-17 debut (FIFA recognized) for Luxembourg.

On the surface, it would appear that we are his third choice, and if he is to use his one international switch, then you'd imagine it will be from Luxembourg to Sweden and not to Ireland.

Not sure if it's been mentioned previously on YBIG, but we've also lost Lukas Browning to Sweden.

He previously represented us at under-17's level, but appears to now be a mainstay in the Sweden under-19's - https://www.uefa.com/under19/season=2018/teams/player=250089895/index.html

He can't switch back.

I can't find any info on whether Browning's solitary U-17 appearance for us was competitive or not. If it wasn't, he absolutely can switch back.

He made his debut vs Finland for Ireland under 17s in the elite round back in 2015.

I'm not sure about that, transfermarkt says he appeared for us on the 28 march 2016, not in 2015. If he did play against the Faroes, he would be ineligible.

Not sure how reliable transfermarkt is to be honest, but in any case he was born in Drogheda and played for Kevin’s as a youngster.

He’s not the type of lad we should be losing.

He played against Serbia on March 28th 2016. It appears to have been a competitive fixture.

Adam Idah played and scored for Norwich in a preseason game yesterday.

Would be fantastic if he could make a few senior appearances this season.
