I fear what this vote entails. Alongside his nasty invective and micro and macro aggression, this is a key political matter at which I am totally at odds with him.

Might not have a choice given the state of play. Boris has a majority of 2 with DUP support, which could be reduced to 1 as there's a by-election coming up.

He's getting absolutely nothing through the Commons as it stands and it looks like he's getting no help from Brussels.

The only way he can change that is by calling a General Election right off the bat which is a very unattractive proposal as there wouldn't be a 2 party fight for votes - There would be 4 party fight for votes with the Lib Dems and Brexit Party in complete resurgence which means the votes would be spread all over the place and could lose even more seats.
If a Hard Brexit happens the Brexit Party and Lib Dems become irrelevant to exist and it'd go back to a 2 party fight for votes which is an lot more attractive time to hold a GE

To go from a working majority of 17 to a confidence and supply majority of 2 while trying pass legislations through the Commons for Brexit means May's decision to hold the GE in 2017 will always be regarded as 1 of the stupidest moves in British politics history.

Can't blame May for calling an election.  At the time, the Tories were riding high in the polls and projected to win a 100+ majority if an election was called.  Theresa May's mistake was being a really sh*t campaigner, running the most lazy, complacent election campaign in living history, ducking out of TV debates and refusing to face Corbyn head on.

The polls were the problem why she collapsed so badly.

Yeah she was riding high on YouGov etc but the amount of people they were surveying were extremely low, sometimes as low as a 1000 people. Just because she rides high on 90% of a 1000 person poll means jack sh*t, and she got complacent from that.
Next mistake was sending Rudd out to her dirty work, as in the the live debates.

It was a complete amateur campaign from the most amateur PM the UK will have a long time.

If she resigned right after the 2017 GE then the next government would of been able to salvage something with the EU but what she's basically done is the football equivalent of resigning from a football club who need 6 points and a better goal difference with 2 games remaining to avoid relegation.
It's a nearly impossible task Boris has taken on, his cabinet will predominantly Brexiteers, I think there's only 1 confirmed remainer with Hunt in a strop because his post is not getting kept but if he goes too far kissing the right-wing ERG employing the likes of JRM then he might not even last til Xmas.

Boris' plan is so obvious and blatant even Stevie Wonder can see it - Survive beyond October, leave the EU under any circumstances then call a GE so he can start increasing his hold in the Commons to put his own policies in.

Boris on a proper purge of the old guard in his cabinet.

3 resignations because they supported Hunt (Stewart, Hammond and Gauke) and 7 sackings so far.

Only one who could be a worse Foreign Sec. than Boris and that's no mean feat (and probably why he put him there)

So it’s officially Johnson, Javid and Patel v Corbyn, McDonnell, and Abbott. Congratulations Uk, you’re screwed.

JRM has arrived at Downing St.

It's like the apocalypse has arrived. Such bad news for British politics, JRM getting a top job.
