That’s enough time for another referendum.

That's the gist of Tusk's proposal. Basically undercuts Steve Barclays arguement there wouldn't be time for a referendum. Smart from Tusk.

Tusk's granddad was in the Wehrmacht, so maybe he'll be able to channel that strength from somewhere. Polling suggests that if there were another In/Out referendum an option to leave the EU would win relatively comfortably. Not that the establishment would ever allow that to happen, of course. All indications suggest that if there were another referendum it would be a choice between Remain (Theresa May's expensive vassalage 'deal') and Remain (Remain).

  • The British PM has today flown to Berlin to plead for help from the German chancellor. As a spectacle of national humiliation, Brexit makes Suez look like VE Day

Maybe. Six months is long enough to organise a general election, another vote, a revocation, a new deal... it's long enough to do a lot of things, that may or may not mean Brexit.

I think they should have said 1 year.
6 months is tight to organise another general election, referendum etc
Steps would have to be put in place now to do so.

Either way it’s still a total mess.

Almost inevitable. Drawing it out  is the most pointless thing they could do. They will spend a 100 million quid on European elections that will almost guarantee positive results for pro leave parties and individuals as nobody else will be bothered to turn up.
    Farcical.

    In fairness, it’s facinating.

Long winded sure, but there are plenty of layers to the debacle.

Considering nothing has happened since the referendum, quite easily. It's a bit like a soap opera; you might not have seen in five years, but watch  half an episode and you know you are up to date with who hates who.
