Three huge games for the club today, shows the best of what the club offers Irish Football.

0-0 HT score

SSE Airtricity league 1st Division
UCD AFC v Shelbourne, The UCD Bowl ko 19:45
1st game of the league season with this 3 Century Dublin Derby.  UCD have 8 League wins from 12 games over the last three seasons so UCD want to keep that going.  The best young talent in the country is on display with colour and noise guaranteed.

Maynooth Univerisity Town AFC v University College Dublin

After a terrifically successful February with UCD winning the Collingwood Cup and CUFL Premier Division Double, UCD Intermediated into the 1/4 Final of the FAI Intermediate Cup and UCD AFc starting off the title challenge with another League win over Shelbourne FC.

Mega-March at UCD Bowl brings more great fixtures.

SSE AL UCD AFC v Galway Utd, Fri 09th March UCD Bowl ko 19:45
But sides won their opening games, both clubs looking to get a head start on the other in the early exchanges.  Plenty of colour and noise for Fans to get behind the teams. #mouthwatering

FAI Intermediate Cup 1/4 Final Replay, UCD (LSL) v Maynooth Univ Town AFC, Sun 11th March Thornfield, UCD Campus ko 11:00 (Thornfield pitch is behind The UCD Bowl, near Astros)
If there's a National or All-Ireland competition you can be sure UCD will be in the mix.
After a ding-dong 2-2 draw in Maynooth in February both sides looking to continue the charge for a National trophy.  Avondale Utd or Dublin Bus await the winners in the Semis.
UCD(LSL) are in the last eight, but UCD (LSL) won't be in the FAI Senior Cup draw because the rude clubs are allowed exclude and the rules changed after UCD(LSL) started to get too successful.

SSE AL, Athlone Town V UCD AFC, Fri 16th Mar Athlone Town Stadium, ko 19:45
The league campaign continues where Georgie Kelly, equaled, beat and then extended the UCD League goalscoring record to 17 League Goalson the last day of the season last year.

SSE AL, Wexford FC v UCD AFC, Bank Holiday Monday 19th Mar, Ferrycarrig Park, ko TBC
Another tough away game on the road to the First Division Championship.

SSE AL, UCD AFC v Cabinteely, Fri 23rd Mar UCD Bowl, ko 19:45
South Dublin Derby comes around again.  Cabo got their first league win against UCD after 9 League wins in a row and two draws since Cabo joined the Airtricity League.

SSE AL Cobh Ramblers v UCD AFC, Fri March 30th St Colmans Park ko 19:45
The Students will have to raise their game once again facing another Championship challenger.

Looking forward to all of it.

EA Sports Cup Athlone Town 0:2 UCD AFC. A win in March brings a game in April.
A goal in each half. Timmy Molloy and Yoyo Mahdy. Darragh Corcoran and Kevin Coffey did a lot of work on the right side. Slowly built up the chances on a soft pitch.
First win in EA Sports since Waterford Utd away (1-6) in 2012. UCD got a 1st round bye last year.

Cobh (a) Fri, Bohs v UCD EA Sports Mon 02nd Dalyer ko 15:00, Drogs (a) Fri Apr 06th.
UCD will have 4 first team games on the road in eleven days. Normal activity of a Football Club.

Longford Town 0:2 UCD AFC (Georgie Kelly 2)
Longford had a fair bit of possesion early doors with a couple of off-target shots.  The Students started to ramp up attacks and were more accurate George Geogie Kelly, Jay Jayo McClelland, Daire DOC O'Connor all pulling the trigger but Longford 'keeper Mick Kelly saving with fist and feet.

But UCD's 2nd half goals were a thing of beauty. Kelly won back the ball in the peno area with an outstretched leg, captain Gary O'Neill picked up the pieces headed for the goal line and his low cross was tapped home by Kelly.  A few minutes later Jay McClelland drove into the box, withstood one tackle and kept possession to chip a cross the Kelly fired into the top corner, great stuff.  Winning when out in front is nice, the last time  UCD did that was the penultimate game of the season in 2009 when we lifted the Eircom First Division Championship in Athlone Town Stadium. #COYBIB

SSE Airtricity League, Friday 27th April, UCD AFC v Wexford FC, The UCD Bowl, ko 19:45
A very good footballling side Wexford come to The UCD Bowl to take on The Students who as a team have grown together for over two years. Those Players will be around the League of Ireland for many years
, Fans have a chance to see them early in their careers and nod sagely in the future about when they saw them as teenagers. It's one of the prestige actions fans have dont waste the opportunity.
In the meantime, UCD are top of the Division and playing some grwat football. All Football Fans welcome.

Leinster Senior Cup, 4th round (last 16), Tues May 01st, UCD AFC v Longford Town, The UCD Bowl, ko 19:45 (extra time and penos hopefully).
Two clubs who give a sh!t about football history and longevity. This ancient tournament inspires the imagination of the romantics. On this day of Labour freedom if any labourers have some free time they're very welcome to continue to enjoy Football and Freedom in a collective environment. #COYBIB #BLACK&RED

34th Anniversary of 1984 FAI Cup Final Replay UCD AFC 2:1 Shamrock Rovers, Friday May 04th 1984, Tolka Park Dublin.

Joe Hanrahan and Ken O'Doherty put the ball in the rovers net. UCD played three times at Tolka during the 1984 cup run, Home Farm away 1/4s. Waterford Utd Neutral 1/2s and the Final Replay. UCD hosted Everton FC at Tolka for the 1st Rd 1st leg of Cup-Winners-Cup. After Shamrock Rvs won 3 cups in a row '85, 86, 87, UCD book-ended their initial win by beating Shamrock Rovers at the first hurdle (don't know round number) in 1988 at Tolka Park. "Tolka!, Tolka!, Tolka!"

Joe's nephew Ben scored for UCD AFC against Longford Town last Tuesday, Keith Dignam's son came on as substitute. Ben scored his first senior League of Ireland goal against Shelbourne last year, at Tolka Park.

SSE Airtricity League, Fri 04th May 2018, Shelbourne FC v UCD AFC, Tolka Park, ko 19:45 League's fixture committee have a sense of humour.

A good April with 3 League wins and a loss to Drogheda Utd. Hopefully it can lead to a good or even very good May.

89th minute equaliser from Captain Gary O'Neill against 3rd placed Shels extended the lead at the top. Georgie Kelly   getting sent off after two yellows, 1st for standing up to Shels fouls, 2nd for falling under Shels fouls.  The first match of 3 matches on the road in 8 days.  Normal fixture schedule for an FC during a season.

SSE Airtricity League, Bank Holiday Mon 07th May, Wexford FC v UCD AFC, Ferrycarrig Park, ko 17:00
Great day for a game against another FC that also football. On this Labour Day/Victory Day Bank Holiday Weekend after the toils against The Reds maybe The Students can overcome Wexford with a win. #labour #students #omladi

Very good. He has continued where he left off with UCD club record of 17 goals last year. He wins balls when it appears he is at a disadvantage. At 0-0 in 2nd half away to Longford, didn't win the initial challenge when the ball was played into the box, he kept his balance and stretched to win the ball from defender and passed outside the box to Gary O'Neill who crosses back to him on goal-line for him to tap in. He's scoring for fun at the minute. He has nine league goals this year (including five in a row over two games).

He was suspended after 2 yellows against Shelbourne. I'd like him to stay with UCD and have a crack at beating his own highest scoring record. in a season

Yeah have heard good things. He is a player with good potential- Derry let him go a few seasons back but he is getting on the best at UCD so been good for him. Dery keeping a close eye on him recently. Wouldn't be suprised to see him come back at some stage.

Kenny said was no truth in rumours he had agreed to sign for us, but never ruled it out.

Pretty sure I seen somewhere he has another year (masters) left at college after this year
