It’s very difficult, but we’ve already beaten Holland who are European champions at 17s level last season, meaning that most of those players have moved up to 19s.

Our under 18s recently beat Belgium - who will also have lads playing in the 19s tournament.

We’ve top class attacking talent at this age level and won’t fear playing anyone.

Belgium drawing with Malta is good for us but also bad as really how can they get a result against France if they cant beat Malta.

Other good results: Sweden lost to Wales, Georgia lost to Azerbaijan.

Not good results: England beat Iceland, Greece beat Romania.

Czechs currently beating Macedonia but they still have to play Croatia.

We need 4 of the following 6 things to happen:

Croatia to get a result against Czech Republic.
Bulgaria to get a result against Greece.
Israel to lose or draw, or win by only one goal against Georgia.
Sweden to get a result against Scotland.
Belgium to draw or win against France.
England to not win their last game, against Turkey (in Turkey).

We are still in the mix. Will go to the wire.
We will either be last in Pot one or 1st or 2nd in Pot 2.

Fine margins. Still a lot of football to be played next week.

All the groups conclude today so we will know where we stand by the end of the day, maybe sooner.

First up this morning is Belgium v France. England v Turkey kicks off a little while later.

Israel draw 1-1 with Georgia.

Alls we need now is a Sweden win / draw vs Scotland or a Croatia win / draw vs Czechs.

Fancy the Scots to do the usual bottle job.

Think we are safe. Apparently Czechs have to beat Croatia 5 nil or better.
