As they say the wheels of justice turn slowly. Reckon Trump will be turfed out within 12 months. The midterms loom large and Democrats look like they will have a "tremendous" win. Impeachment to then follow.

9 months after I posted the above the Democrats won a landslide in midterms and in the 12 months since then they have largely deferred impeachment investigations until Trump eventually gave them no choice but to open the investigation.

Impeachment is without a shadow of a doubt a dead cert, removal from office on the other hand not so.

Meanwhile Manafort is still rotting in prison after blowing up his plea deal.

The impeachment trial in January is going to be a circus.

Tensions significantly heightened with Iran. The withdrawal from the Iran deal in 2018 demonstrated how wafer thin the goodwill in terms of cooperation was, but this has obliterated any vestiges of it.

All his own fault because of a childish obsession with anything Obama did.

The Iranians are no pushovers and it's an insane policy in ratcheting up tensions with them.
Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.

In return, they have no goodwill to the US and it doesn’t seem like a move that had any reason to be made. The nasty history of Soleimani was not a reason.

Soleimani's history was no more hegenomous or nasty than U.S. policy towards Iran since the early 50s.

Imagine the reaction if Iran assassinated someone like General Paetreus at Toronto International Airport. You would have multiple missile attacks on Iran if not an actual invasion in order to remove the regime by force with a couple of days.

The Iranians have a legitimate grievance towards the U.S. for the best part of the last 70 years.

Legitimate or not, Soleimani was a nasty individual. It doesnt validate the American act in this case, nor does it legitimise the death.

Probably calling Trump an idiot again as he did at the NATO meeting as Trump didn’t bother consulting the UK about the attack and the possibility of retaliation on his allies.

Rather important information to be withholding imo.

The strike seems very unilateral and has come entirely out of the blue.
