Scott Hogan has had several opportunities and shown little interest. Pointless picking him so Parrott is a better option than Hogan.

That old chestnut, eh?

When he was still only 17, Kane joined Orient on loan in the January 2011 window, eventually scoring 5 goals in 18 matches

He joined Millwall in Jan.2012 (i.e. aged 18 y.o.) when they were in the Championship and his run of goals scored towards the end of the season has been credited with helping to raise Millwall in the table away from the threat of relegation that season. So that despite only playing 27 games (9 goals), he was still their Young POTY.

And when he subsequently returned to Spurs, he was the English PFA Young POTY for 2014/15, when he was still only 21. That season he scored 21 goals in 34 PL appearances, 31 in all competitions.

It is, of course, far too early to write off TP, but having turned 19 in February, his career is still somewhat behind what HK was achieving at a similar age.

i've seen Parrott a good few games for Millwall and whenever he has played for us. Does not look anything special. Hopefully he will come good. it probably took one game to know robbie keane was going to be special.

I saw Kane on quite a few of his appearances for Orient, I believe I was at the game where he scored his first senior goal in a thumping of Sheffield Wednesday, and he looked distinctly average overall. Any Orient fan who said they knew he would go on to have the career would be lying.
It also seems to be the case that players are developing for the game a couple of years later than they were a decade ago.

You’re right. Robbie Keane was sensational for Wolves in his first season.

He scored twice on his debut as a 17 year old.

Did the same for his debut at Coventry.

Harry Kane and Parrott shouldn’t even be in the same sentence right now far too much expectation.

If he’s even a Jermaine Defoe, another former Spurs striker, he’ll be a serious player for us but he needs years and maybe another season or two in league 1 to bulk up and find his feet.

Players that play in the number 9 position do tend to score goals, not sure what that has to do with Parrott though considering its not the position he has been playing on loan.

Between the age of 19-21 Kane only scored 6 goals in 40 games. What does that have to do with Parrott? Nothing at all either! Parrott needs time to get used to playing senior football, people need to stop comparing him to other players and judge him on his own merits. Even if he doesn't score between now and the end of the season the loan will be a success if he plays regularly.

Thought he linked up very well a couple of times, particularly with Christie, but the latter's decision making was predictably abysmal.

"Even a Defoe"?

He might not be up to Kane's standard (which English player since Shearer is?), but he is an outside contender for Best of the Rest - 302 goals in 748 appearances, plus 20 in 57 for England:

I'm a Spurs fan.

Which is why I'm interested in Parrott.

I was going to say it. Defoe was a brilliant player, up there as one of my favourite strikers when he was in his prime.

Who Defoe?

Robbie was a better player than Defoe and was better at Spurs too.  Keane and Berbatov was a great partnership for Spurs and always worked better than Keane and Defoe
