that’s exactly why he was sacked. He basically said he has not been supported and that he expected such results with the current squad and investment. Owners and himself are not on the same page and the owner is not going to sell so sack manager.

It's a fairly standard tactic this time of year I'd have thought, same as United bringing on kids in 92nd minute to show how weak the squad is, show owners that they need signings. Sonds like owners just want the PL money and have no intention of trying to stay up.
