    Posted: 19 Apr 2012 at 12:07am
Hi lads,
Ireland and Limerick's Andy Lee will be fighting Julio Cesar Chavez Jr for the WBC World Middleweight title on Saturday June 16th. Anyone know if there will be any Sports Bars or Pubs in the Torun/Poznan area showing this fight on tv? Not sure myself what broadcasters would be carrying this fight, any boxing experts on here? Would be a great atmosphere if we could get to watch it, especially as it's sandwiched in between the Spanish and Italian games on a Saturday night!

The pubs don't close early in Poland and are under no obligation to close at any specific time. So the time is irrelevant! :D Maybe one of the Torun based lads can answer the Sports Bar query?

There is the Liga Sports Bar (http://liga.torun.pl/) which may show it. The 16th June is also the day of the Irish Fun Day organised by The Count.

It'd be closer to 5.30 am or 6am in poland I reckon, a world title fight would surely be 10.30pm or 11 pm local time??

There are 7 hours time difference between Texas and Poland so the fight will most likely take place between 5am and 6am Polish time. The fight will be a HBO main event so should be available to any satelite subscriber in Poland but may be PPV but that shouldn't be an issue.

Poles are quite interested in boxing but wouldn't be particularly interested in this fight so it would be worthwhile checking with the bars

Sky will, in all probability, have tihs fight which means the best bet of catching it may be finding somewhere that has German Sky (who should also then have the fight).

Where did you hear that ? Last I heard , about 12 hours ago, they are having to change the venue from the Sun Bowl but the fight was very much on.

They have been refused permission to fight in the Sun Bowl but the fight is still scheduled to go ahead on the 16th June, looking like it will now be in either Houston or San Antonio.

Cant see a big clamour for this. If lads couldnt make it to see the Rugby game in Andorra they are hardly going to make this.
