He certainly didn't when I watched our game v Gibraltar on Sky - apart from a cure for insomnia. LOL

Hardly a wonder I watched tonight's game on RTE then. LOL

Greed has won, big finance has won. Whatever small role elite clubs still play in the local communities from which they grew is dwarfed now by their position as global brands.

Southgate made a point of praising Rice and Barkley in his post match interview despite what England fans are saying about his performance last night.

I thought he was a passenger in their midfield, and never showed once for the ball. I think he even doubts his own ability to make it to the very top, and he isn't mobile or quick enough or a good enough passer of the ball to ever reach the level of Busquets, De Jong, Kante etc.

Henderson gets a hard time from other football fans maybe because he is a Liverpool player, but he is a better player than Rice and was one of England's best players in the World cup.

I think Rice will be a regular on the bench for England behind Henderson especially when Winks is fully fit, or his future may lie as a centre half for them, mainly because they haven't got a good centre half (with the possible exception of Gomez).

its a pity rice wasnt involved in the comical defending leadin gto the two last goals... his time will come though, its england after all

Maybe not directly, but his unwillingness to show for the ball, or even on the occasions he did show for it to just hit it back to Stones/Maguire/whoever first time, probably indirectly contributed to last night's sh*t show. He's certainly getting a lot of flak from the England fans over his performance at least.
surely pep won' be playing 50 million for him?

Really? I only watched the CL semis and final, as well as the FA Cup final and got nothing from it, despite supposedly 'amazing' comebacks. Maybe it is just my love for it has completely dissipated. International football still holds some semblance of meritocracy that endears.
Nobody cares about the FA Cup... man city did

Teams deliberately go out to lose in it.. yeah some do

The Champions League is the pinnacle of football these days... true

The level of play at top international level is well behind it .........true

Also two leg ties with the away goals rule tend to be much more exciting than your average one off knockout tie than you get in international finals......not true. you cant prove that with two semi-finals

I would fancy the likes of Brazil and france to beat Liverpool and spurs judging on last Saturday's match.

Nearly all sides are worse on paper now. How players fit into a system is far more important than individual skill.
Systems are far more rudimentary at international level compared to club football because international teams don't spend much time together

A finely honed high tempo attacking system like Liverpool play is almost impossible to implement at international level

Because tactical systems at that level are so rudimentary things usually come back to technique, where England are found wanting against the top continental teams
