Great stuff. I'll likely be on that later so fully expect to have 30 minutes added to my journey by a confused L driver or 83 year old driver driving 20mph .

LOL Driving home today and saw an abandoned car stuck in the ditch outside the village where my mum lives. Meant to take a picture of it for posterity but I was already in a rush.

There was a yellow snow warning

When? What’s this whole “snow notoriously difficult to forecast”. What’s different about snow? Is it the freezing of the snow?

I don’t think I received any notification from RTÉ as normally I get them for any other weather warning
Don't eat yellow snow. That's what they said

What's so funny about it?

Its endangering people's lives trying to land a plane in dangerously high winds.  You only have to look up Youtube to see some close calls.  And pilots shouldn;t be under pressure from Ryanair or their bosses to make risky landings for the sake of schedules or fuel costs.
It’s one of the safest & most regulated form of transport as is. How many accidents have happened due to high winds recently?
Edit; just saw Borussia make the exact same point.

then why the laugh?  You seemed to think a rule is a stupid idea.  Now you appear to be agreeing about the idea of existing regulations.

I googled it and there is a grey area in the regulations.  Its up to the individual airlines to decide what is the max wind speed a plane can land in (circa 40mph) but a lot of it is down to the discretion of the pilot.   A big problem is the gusts coming in which can exceed the average wind speed.  Not sure about the airport but over on the west coast there was gusts of 70mph+.

A rule and a law are 2 very different things

''The laws'' of the game of football are a set of rules.

Aviation Regulation is a law.

Am no expert but I imagine that aviation is probably already one of the most highly regulated industries so I imagine there are rules in place already around what is safe and what isn't
