Your dead right that’s exactly what we don’t need players playing well.

You're right, Deco. A good signing for Swansea. He was excellent in Villa's promotion year. Unfortunately, being in the mood for Hourihane seems to coincide with him being in the Championship.

The alternative midfielders that are always hyped up here play Championship whilst Hendrick and McCarthy etc are playing PL - If Hendrick was with a Championship team and with few CAPS we'd all be singing his praises.

You asked if I'd be anyone from history, fact or fiction, dead or alive:
I said "I'd be Tony Cascarino, circa 1995"

manning barely played this year for swansea...have noticed from looking out for his name in their matches that their manager rarely makes subs as well..sometimes doesn't even make one during the whole match, or will make one very late on.. manning has only played 5 games in the league so far

When was the last time Hourihane played left midfield?
Probably when Mick played him there against New Zealand for the second half

Conor Hourihane has agreed to join Swansea on loan for the rest of the season.

A loan fee and other terms were agreed between the two clubs this morning. Hourihane had a number of Sky Bet Championship clubs to choose from.

Hourihane has been terrible, his biggest strength are his set pieces and Brady has been taking them by and large under Kenny.

Hes very slow and just doesn't get involved. Hendrick under Kenny runs himself into the ground and I would agree that some of that is misplaced energy but Hourihane simply offers nothing.

Championship level player at a push.

He's not not the worst for us; he at least presents a danger from a set piece.

I know he wears green for us, but Hendrick may as well be in full camouflage. You just don't notice him most of the time.

He'd make a terrific sniper for the SAS.

I think Hendrick's being grand really; probably our best midfielder pound for pound over the Kenny regime so far. Hourihane flits in and out of games IMO. He'll go an hour without asserting himself with a tendency to give away the ball in bad areas, but then he'll grow into a game and have a twenty or thirty minute spell where he's spraying it around and playing dangerous balls into good areas when we're taking more control of a game. I'd take him out of the firing line personally but he'd be one of the first to come on depending how a game is shaping up.
