Was at Tolka tonight for the 52 minutes of action, till the Gardaí advised the ref to call a halt due to a swaying floodlight pylon!  That must've been coming loose for a while, the wind was strong, but certainly not storm force or even gale force to be honest.  But both Gaffers agreed with the decision to abandon, so I suppose we'd have to go along with that.  Was a poor game as well up to that, so maybe we were all done a favour. What is with Tolka lately.........is nobody looking after it properly?

The guilty pylon was the one in the corner at the turnstile entrance at the Drumcondra end. I did notice in the first half that 2 of the bulbs were out and I saw a couple of bods and Gardaí around it, I just thought they were trying to re-light the bulbs.  I did notice it swaying a bit as well, but I still didn't think it'd cause the abandonment.  We all had to exit at the Ballybough end then, it was a bizarre end alright.

Couldn't hear the PA man when we were all told to leave, but certainly no refunds at the time, maybe Rovers will put something up on the website for the re-fixed game, certainly a reduced entry fee or some gesture would be in order, but sure we'll see........time to get parked on the sofa for the Cup Final...........
