Jay: Your dad does

Simon: Does he?

Sorry to say the GPO has passed away Andy. Been replaced by Carbon which is no comparison. There isn't that same adrenaline rush or sense of accomplishment one used to get when you left the GPO at the end of the night without getting a thump.

However the GPO clientele has relocated to Coyotes so if your after the same vibe id go there. Probably not the club for the faint hearted though, esp. on a Saturday night.

Things to do in Galway. You should stop for a chat with the friendliest bums in Ireland. Theres nothing better than having a romantic meal sitting outside on Quay street and the devils bit cider smelling bearded fella leaning on the partition subjecting ya to his incessant ramblings
Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.

Ok, we can do this the hard way, or the easy way.

Does anyone know anything decent to do in Galway apart from drinking all day and night in town.

Guf came up with some good ideas. The corrib river cruise is very good (I was on it a few weeks ago) and they have award winning Irish coffees. Its €15 for about an hour and a half.

Get out to Aran Islands if you can, even just for the day, its a really good day out. You can buy a package tour that includes the bus to and from Galway to Rosaveal and the ferry to and from Rosaveal to the Islands.

If your driving, then as Guf said, defo head out to Connemara.

There's a free walking tour that leaves from outside the Skeff every day around 12 or 12:30, takes about 2 hours to do it, but it's good, you get to see loads of stuff and you get a good idea of where everything is.
