There was a driver doing what you describe, except he was maintaining the exact same pace as the driver in the next lane for what seemed like 5 minutes; they were literally driving in tandem. I finally got fed up and overtook him in the slow lane after just about squeezing into the gap. He immediately proceeded to drive faster and started tailgating me/flashing me/effing and blinding.

Another strange thing some drivers do is drive at a snails pace on a road where you can't overtake safely before immediately going up a gear when you do finally get a chance to overtake them. Pretty much attempted murder!

People are strange!

It's not a fast lane, it's an overtaking lane
