That moron Stephen Colbert pronouncing his name "Colbear" despite the fact virtually all his ancestors are Irish.

You can smell the self-loathing from here.

Will ya fook off with that self-loathing nonsenseLOL

Sure he's American anyway.

As if he gives a bollocks of how it should be pronounced especially when he's not even Irish.
Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.

In my opinion, pronouncing your surname with a soft T and pretending you're French makes you a bit sad. Even if you remove the Irish aspect.

It's an incredibly daft and pretentious thing to do IMO.

I decided to put the this into google to see who is right "stephen colbert on his irish roots"

https://www.irishcentral.com/culture/entertainment/irish-american-stephen-colbert-to-replace-david-letterman

Colbert a proud Irish American recently had his Irish roots dissected by Henry Louis Gates on the PBS documentary series “Faces of America.” Colbert has spoken of his Irish roots many times in the past, and takes part in New York Bloomsday celebrations, in honor of the James Joyce classic "Ulysses."https://a.teads.tv/page/76124/tag" style="box-sizing: border-box; margin-bottom: 16px; color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: Lato, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">

On the show Colbert and Gates talked about the effect of British colonialism in Ireland, with Colbert saying that the Irish in America will never forget the British driving their ancestors off their land.

“Part of being Irish even to this day is not liking the English,” said Colbert with a laugh. “Absolutely no doubt.”

The comic recalled being scared to tell his mother about his future sister-in-law’s accommodations in New York. No, she wasn’t living in sin. It was actually worse. She was residing at a building on 72nd Street called the Oliver Cromwell.

“I thought, I can’t tell my mom that!,” said Colbert. “Cromwell is like Satan.

It would damage this forums' reputation

Unusual English surnames very common with working class Dubliners.

Not an English sounding surname but there was a lad called Gary Douche beaten to death in his cell in Mountjoy a good few years ago.

Got a Big Mac at a drive through recently.  Drove home and decided to warm it up a bit in the microwave.  The thing that came out of the microwave was the most disgusting yoke ever.  Put it in for 40 seconds and it came out damp and soggy and the cheese was almost dripping.  Put me off McDonalds.

Somebody once said to me you don’t go to McDonalds for a burger, but you go for a McDonalds. It is what it is. But I can sympathise. Once it goes in the microwave it just becomes that little bit more gross.
