Fans will be able to watch one-off Scottish Premiership games this season after the SPFL confirmed clubs can sell matches on a pay-per-view basis.

Here we are under 2 days ahead of the new season & the powers that be STILL haven't decided whether it will be 3 or 5 subs for the time ahead
Probably still trying to calculate if it will suit Celtic or Sevco more (it will suit Sevco more as their team tire quicker)

Scotland eh, what a sheidthole

Stokes leaves Livingston already cos he hates their plastic pitch (like everyone else)

But the 32-year-old has agreed to leave after "struggling to adapt to training" on Livingston's artificial pitch.

"It's not quite worked out in terms of the intense training schedule we had put in place," said head of football operations David Martindale.

"Of course, Anthony knew the surface we had in place but each player adapts to that differently and you can't know how your body will feel until you've played or trained on it frequently.

"We know it isn't for everyone and sadly, that's been the case for Anthony."

Managerial great Jim McLean passed away, incredible achievements with Dundee United in the ‘70s and ‘80s.

Quote They enjoyed the success and lived with the abuse. Sometimes they were rewarded. Such as the time he kicked the kit hamper in frustration, got his foot stuck and spent the rest of the team talk hopping on the spot, forcing Davie Narey to pull his jersey over his face to hide tears of joy.

LOL

Eamonn Dunphy:"I'll tell you who wrote it, Rod Liddle, he's the guy who ran away and left his wife for a young one".

Bill O'Herlihy: Ah ye can't be saying that now Eamonn

“Footballers had more money and less respect. When McLean disciplined the then-youngsters Duncan Ferguson and Andy McLaren by ordering them to paint Tannadice’s gymnasium, Ferguson painted in large lettering “Jim McLean is a ****”. Sturrock, by now McLean’s assistant manager, remembers McLean’s bewilderment being so overwhelming that he initially reacted by laughing. Initially.

McLean’s relationship with Ferguson was a microcosm of his confusion with the new breed of player. “Football means too f**king much to me,” he once told the defiant young striker, “and too f**king little to you.”

If Roma hadn't bribed the referee in the semi final, then the 1984 European Cup Final could have been a Dundee Utd vs. Liverpool. And McLean's team would have put up one hell of a fight, no doubt about that.

You also didn't want to ask Wee Jim any "stupid questions" or this happened ....

LOL As a matter of interest, did Alex Smith get it right on the park eventually?

"Ye think I'm gonnae answer a stupid question like that ?"

(muffled punch)

"don't f**king ever offer me that again !" LOL

Dundee Utd were in a pretty bad way in the early 2000s. Alex Smith had the unenviable task of managing a relegation battling, almost bankrupt Arabs team until 2002 when Paul Hegarty took over. Their fortunes finally took a turn for the better in 2006 when Craig Levein took charge.

McLean was forced to resign from the club boardroom as a result of that wee incident above. He subsequently had a column in a Tayside newspaper where he frequently took shots at the club's directors.
