Went to see UFO at the spring and Airbrake last year - had to walk out halfway through, they were pants. Mogg voice had seriously deteriaorated in the previous 12 months. The brother was speechless (he  had seen them in their heyday)

Newryrep's top recommendation is...............The Union (ex thunder guitarist)
'Irish' Songs for an Irish team - no SPL EPL generic sh*te
Richard Dunne - 6th Sept 11 - best marshalling of a defence in Moscow since General Zukov Russia V Germany 1941

Saw UFO about 5-6 years ago. I didn't think they were too bad then.

Thunder playing with Whitesnake (and Journey, unfortunately) in May. Got me tickets 2 weeks ago. Thumbs Up

Krokus have a new album out early new year. What a great and underrated band. As good as AC/DC, in my view.

Wouldn't mind going to this myself. Haven't been there since Monsters of Rock in the 80s. Have heard it hasn't a patch on MOR but is supposed to be good all the same.

Anybody recommend any new rock bands wether it be heavy/metal/alternative. Seems a lot of rock is pants at the minute and I am only buying stuff I used to have on tape or oldies I missed out on.

Steel Panther - 80s style glam metal band, catchy tunes and very funny lyrics.
Airbourne - Aussie rock band, AC/DC style sound, great craic!
Foo Fighters last album (Wasting Light) is prob my fave album of the last few years.

I'm more inclined to listen to older stuff myself tbh
