There are valid arguments above on both sides. There is also some amount of sh*te being spouted from both sides. It comes down to personal responsibility. Holidays for an elderly couple are very different to those in their early 20s.

The issue is that there is no end date to this virus. Who’s to say in a year’s time we look back on this time as being the safest time to travel with the virus at very low levels Europe-wide?

What is for certain; we need tourism to start back up or the economy here will be on its knees and may never recover. I don’t think some people understand, we cannot live how we have for the last few months without a hell of a lot of lives being torn apart due to long term unemployment. This will be the same in the tourist hotspot countries.

The vilification of those that go abroad does nobody any favours.

The virus is everywhere, forever. Can we all get real. My finance was on the front line, (we both caught the virus, yet had no symptoms) She deserves a holiday, her colleagues didn’t cancel theirs either. They all fought the coronavirus, if anyone deserves a holiday, health service workers do. It’s about time Ireland openned the borders to EU tourism, reconnect families separated across Europe and kick start the 1-10 jobs tourism is directly related to.

Translation:  Me and the missus have had the virus and are now in the clear so f**k everyone else. Happy days.

Incorrect. My partner was one of those people you stood out and clapped for, they didn’t ask to be in the generation that were asked to fight Covid19. Boris Johnson actually called anyone who was Band 5 (Being a Nurse, OT, Physio Etc) in the NHS (Unskilled due to the fact they earned under £25,600) There is a stark difference between unskilled and simply underpaid. Anyway, she deserves a holiday, working in a former train station turn nightingale hospital. I think if anyone deserves to be sipping a Mai Thai, she does, as do her colleagues.

There is roughly 1-10 jobs directly related to tourism. What’s the answer? ‘f**k them instead’ the bars and restaurants, the tour guides, the museums, the baggage handlers, cabin crew, check in staff, the cleaners of facilities, bus drivers, train drivers,  F**k em all. F**k their livelihoods? Is that the answer? There’s a balance, a balance must be found. Furlough will end soon, and the job losses that are coming are going to be the largest in 100 years. The millions that dive into poverty, the deaths and consequences that will cause will far out weight the deaths of Covid19. The true number, still unknown in the U.K. due to how poorly deaths were labelled as Covid.

Jaysus that was some own goal but the Alliance Party MP up north. Talking about the travel advise when she returns her holiday in Italy and how we should take precautions and follow the advise that is in place when she returns, without remembering that the travel advise currently is against non-essential travel to leave the country in the first place!

The Dingle side of things is a lot better IMO - I've done it the last 3 years.

The fish box is meant to be very popular place to eat and the Boatyard too, Dick Macs for pints but it was closed and due to be open on Monday

Inch beach is worth dropping into if your passing.

Check this out - https://www.theirishroadtrip.com/48-hours-in-kerry/?fbclid=IwAR1qGgNOWIX5s2wvn_WiIpPUMoCADLph7F012bwCfuvLrs-0tTpq93H_-9I

There is also a group on Facebook too called 'The Irish Road Trip'

In Dingle, I'd go to Dunquin pier\Dun Chaoin Pier and do the Slea Head drive and the Conor Pass etc..

Also Coumeenoole Beach too

There is a look out we stumbled across at the Aghadoe Hotel which overlooks all the lake and all the islands. The google pictures don't do it justice.

I'd drive to the Torc waterfall as it's on the way to the Gap of Dunloe as opposed to walking to it via the Killarney park, might save you some time.

Derrynane beach is also good spot but a bit of pain to get too. You can do all sorts of water sports there too

In Valencia Island, I'd head up to Geokaun mountains and the Bray Head, and the Kerry Cliffs in Portmagee too.

Rossbeigh strand is nice for a stroll if you passing by too.

You'll probably stumbled across things that might interest you more along the way too.

good man HB will have a look into this. Was supposed to take 2 and a half weeks off in October for the Slovakia & Finland game but 99.99% we wont be getting into the ground so will holiday somewhere in Ireland

Any recommendations for Cork?

Looking to head there for 3/4 days and travel about.

Spike Island, Cork gaol, Baltimore and Rosscarbary are on the list, want to pass though Bealnablath too.

Yeah Spike Island is well worth a trip. Bealnablath isn't much really, just a little statue on a corner. Kinsale is the nicest town, some lovely pubs/restaurants down there. Inchydoney is a lovely spot for a fancy night. If you want really wild, drive the Beara coast road. It's nicer than the Ring of Kerry, but the roads don't fit the tour busses hence they're less discovered. Around Allihies and Eyeries is gorgeous. If you're brave you can get the cable car across to Dursey island.
