When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross.

Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.

Yeah Terzino I'd agree, with Trump looking more isolated and maybe not running for president the civil war might be less likely. But the country still has huge issues that will be there for many more years.

Seriously? No.

Republicans and Democrats are two sides of the one coin. It's an illusion that there's a real difference and a democratic choice.

So what you're saying is most American's know that and they vote according to which politicians they like Tongue? Or do they just stick with one party, hate the other side, hate anyone associated with them, believe that the other side is lying and cheating all the time. Believe elections are been stolen, fraud is rife. Basically the conditions needed for a civil war.

This makes for sobering reading

Russia would never invade Ukraine, they said. Donald Trump would never be elected, they said.

Some mighty fine selection bias going on there. People say 100's of things that will never happen 99.9% of them don't

In the large, they don't appear to be aware and they believe in the pointless partisanism. The hype around lying and cheating etc are stoked by the media companies to get viewership figures up, and it suits the establishment as it creates an environment where it seems like there are genuine fissures between the two sides.

They do a great job at getting Americans to look the other way. Regardless of who's in, the rich get richer, the military industrial complex rolls on, and poor people in USA and elsewhere will suffer.

If there's even a sniff that someone who might genuinely shake things up will get in - and not just someone who says outlandish things, but is still totally pro-business/military/has all the usual corporate hawks in place - e.g. Bernie, they are shuffled away quickly enough to be replaced by an inanimate pawn, e.g. Biden.

No, the midterms were bad results for Trump IMO. That's the end of him. Any of the non-incumbants he backed won, so I think that's an indication he's not a good candidate at the moment

His hope is to stay out of jail by declaring. Tough-the major cases are too far along and he will be indicted for at least one of them within the next few months. He’ll play the victim card again to fleece the rubes who follow him, that’s the plan as the party cannot legally continue to pay his legal bills once he announces as a candidate. The GOP know he’s a liability now, the election denying clown show is not a winner and he has cost them the Senate yet again by anointing kooks and incompetents as candidates . A narrow majority in the House will cause the Republicans with their warring factions more problems than a Democratic win would have given them. But they fear he will burn the party to the ground if DeSantis, Youngkin or any other of his rivals gets the nomination. He will ( hahahahaha ).

HE can launch whatever he wants, I'm saying that I think the midterms means he's done as a candidate, don't think the party will nominate him.

I've no idea what you are on about. My point is nobody was expecting Trump to get elected or Russia to invade, so while I don't really believe a civil war is imminent it could happen. We live in weird times
