De Boer's stock has dropped quite significantly in recent seasons, an awful last year with Ajax wasn't helped by following it up with a disaster with Inter, made worse by his replacement there managing to turn their season around. I would have thought Van Bronckhurst would have been their first choice, unless the clause is too high.
